  1. I like to close the door, otherwise leaving is a sham done for attention.

Plus it's rude to leave the door open.

  2. you never know who you will see again or who you won't. life is never only goodbye but a hope to see you later. i leave when i have to and let people go when it is time. i miss some and forget most.

  3. Jobs, yes. Relationships, hopefully, but not always possible or practical and for some, downright dangerous. So the overall answer would be, no.

  4. In my youth I was this kind of person who would never ever look back at what I left behind...Always looking forward!

But with time,  age and experience,  I grew in maturity (I'd like to believe so!).  Now I don't slam the door shut!  Whoever wants to catch up with me is welcome...

  5. There's a time for each. Most often I leave the door open (even when I don't look back), but there are those times when closing the door (and even locking it) is the best option.

  6. I would like to join the metaphor party. :)

Umm... essentially, I close the door.  But then I keep looking behind, even though I just see the door.  This could just be my own case, but I think the very idea of closing or leaving open a door is just an illusion of control.  Things still happen, and often it's the supposed vicissitude of fate that moves the door anyway.  Maybe, in a relationship of any kind, you still have a feeling you don't know you have, and it grows.  Or... well, 'or' ad nauseum, I guess.

  7. Open door and unburned bridges -- whenever I can.

  8. I almost always leave an open door. There are very occasional times, however, when walking away and not looking back best fits.

  9. ...an open door policy for a few...burn the bridges for some...

...a ping pong table for all...

...im happy with my lifestyle...thank you...
