  1. It depends on the circumstances.  It's done more in a business setting but I wouldn't go around shaking the hands of complete strangers or people I know or meet everyday, it would seem very strange.  Usually saying hi or hello, how are you today or that other old chesnut, how are you keeping today? is enough.

  2. I always shake a person hand before i meet them it shows others that your very respectful and kind.

  3. Well, I say "Hi, nice to meet you" or "Hi, nice to see you again." Sometimes, people extend their hands to shake hands so not to be rude I do.

    Thanks for asking.

  4. i dont shake people's hands unless they reach out their hand to me first

  5. To me it depends on the vibe I'm getting. Some people you meet and they just seem really standoffish, so in that case, I just say hi nice to meet you.

  6. I do shake hands sometimes, if appropriate or offered, but not always. I think it is a bit formal for most situations now, people are generally a bit more casual in this day and age.

  7. I always shake someones hand when I meet them.  I will offer it forward if they don't but usually its mutual.  I also shake someones hand when I leave from somewhere.  Especially in the business world, it is expected.  With my friends and stuff when I haven't seen them in a while I will give them a handshake or a hug or a handshake/lean in hug thing haha.  You shake someones hand out of a respect.  It is a formal greeting.  In my opinion you can learn a lot from someone about their handshake.

  8. When I'm offered a hand, I shake, but I usually get by with a smile and a nod and a confident nice to meet you.
