  1. Make sure you have windows  down  and scan as you get close

  2. Yes. What if they are working trying to repair the lights or for some other reason they are not working and no one has reported it, therefore, no signs are up to warn you.

  3. no, but listen for the train approaching.  they're required to use their bells and horns when approaching ungated crossings.

  4. Only if there is a train coming.

  5. I dont stop but I do slow down just to check if all is clear first..........

  6. Only if there are a lot of cars behind me.  Otherwise, it just isn't fun.

  7. no you don't, not unless there is a valid stop sign by the tracks, if there is no stop sign, you can just cruise right on through

  8. Unless otherwise posted or required by law, I just slow down and look carefully. Turn off the radio, get off the phone and roll down the window. Trains kill, and lights and gates have been known to fail.

  9. Yes I do...Love honey

  10. Only when the train is coming.

  11. No. But I do slow down

  12. No...I only stop when the lights are on.

  13. When I first started driving, I was going home from babysitting out in the country, I came to a crossing with no lights, I thought I looked, but it was cold , I had the windows up, some condensation, had the heater on and the radio blaring, I came within about six inches of being torn in half, I did not see or hear the train, always, stop, look and listen, with your radio off and windows down.

  14. I never used to until I almost got nailed by one, scary
