Question:

Do you answer questions differently at different times in the day?

There has been a lot of discussion recently on how the dog section can be rude at times with answers - everything from 'screaming' in answers to downright insults.

I'm curious...do you find that you answer questions differently at different times? For example, if you come on in the morning, would you answer questions 'politely', but if you came on at night, you would answer them 'rudely'? Or do you answer them the same way no matter what?

I'm lucky enough to be able to come on quite often...I think I'm politer in the morning when I'm well rested. I can actually be ruder in the afternoon - I tend to write snappier answers and have a lower stupidity tolerance. At night I can go either way - depends on my mood. What about you?

In case this isn't a legit enough question - Does your dog like to play with stuffed squeaky toys, or do they rip them apart?

  1. No. :)

The stuffing always gets ripped out.

  2. I answer according to the knowledge at hand always remembering that if the people are asking a question,it's because they truly are trying to reach out for some type of knowledge from experienced people in that particular field.I feel if people can't answer politely or don't have the info, then they should not answer  at all.as for your question my dog would rip all the squeeky toys apart so i stopped buying him the squeesky toys and opted for the more durable ones.

  3. Time of day doesnt matter at all for me.  Although when I'm at work my responses might be a little less verbose due to time restrictions.  Otherwise I answer all questions with the same temperatment since I'm pretty mild mannered as it is.  Maybe its just when more people are on and answering questions.

As for stuffed toys, its the ONLY kind my dog will play with.  She won't touch it if its not a stuffed and soft squeaky.  Some occasionally get ripped to shreds so we often opt for ones without too many appendages like a stuffed hamburger.

  4. I seen the other question and answered it as well. I do think that i come up with different things to say. I do how ever try to not be rude. If someone has something about a puppy i mention spaying and neutering... No matter what I think more people should spay their animals. I dont think enough people have seen them pulling the *red tags* in the shelters on doggy and kitty death day. They are putting more and more and more animals to sleep then they are placing into a home. healthy puppies and kittens are dieing because people cant spay or neuter their animals. if they cant spend the money to spay or neuter them then maybe they should spend the time to make sure they dont breed. Keep them seperate or something!

I have a Chihuaua and a pitbull that I am rehabilitating... the chi likes the lil stufed squeeky toys... when the pitbull is alone he can play with the toys but when the other is around he cant cause he is agressive... and we all know it takes 2 seconds and then he is a toy himself.   The Bully gets this thing on a pole that is barried. he will hold it and swing himself on it. He loves it. OH... and he likes tennis balls... but he pops them and then tears up the lil pieces. He likes this basket ball and a soccer ball he tore up. and the rope things. He likes to tug o war with me!

  5. I try to be polite and understanding any time of the day but I usually get upset when I have read the same idiotic question that regards someone not spaying/neutering their dog/cat and are now having problems with the mom or the litter.  There is a simple solution to these problems and it is to get your pets spayed and neutered!  See just thinking about it gets me all worked up!

  6. Mine completely depends on the question asked and the way it is asked. I can be a complete bia for one stupid question and 'peaches and cream' for the next one.  And no. I'm not bi-polar :) Just easily irked by ignorance.

  7. I guess... I am tired right now so I don't usually answer questions when I am tired cause I can't think straight. But I seem to answer questions more nicely at night, right before bed.

They don't really care about toys.

  8. No, I answer how I feel at that moment...like now I am a wrecked, mess...so stay outa my way!

LEGIT stuffies? what do you mean they have fluff?

  9. Yeah I'd say I'm probably the same as you, sometimes cranky on a morning if I'm still half asleep.

The other morning I think it was I came on and looked back a few hours worth of pages (I'm in England) and found a question that I near enough swore on - and I'm not one to swear unless I'm extremely annoyed. After a few minutes I realised it probably wasn't the best approach and change my swearing to 'Argh'.

It also depends on the types of question that are common at the given time, if there are many 'I've breaded my chiwawa and now shes bleedin iz this normal!!111!' type questions I'm more likely to give angry (but worthwhile) answers to any type of question. Wouldn't say I'm rude, some people just need things said bluntly ;]

Legit - Only have a Shih Tzu pup ATM and he's more into squeaking his soft toys, though he did chew one ear of his first (and favourite) soft toy =)

  10. I think it really depends on the question.

Most "stupid" questions are asked later in the night, so I'm more apt to be 'rude' to someone asking a stupid question.

More intelligible questions are on mid-day or early morning (the time all the 12-15 year old's are all at school), so they are nicely worded and properly mannered, I'll answer those politely.

Legit> We keep the stuffed toys away from our guys. They rip them up and try to eat the stuffing. "Mr. Buttons" was a penguin with a squeaker in it and it had buttons for eyes, well, Max ate the eyes, the squeaker, and most of the fluff. He had Mr.Buttons p**p for about two days afterwords.

    :)

  11. My dog doesn't care much about squeakies, except to try to hide them.

If I'm tired, I can get very abrupt, even downright snarky. If I'm having a hectic day, the answers get shorter. Other than that, I try to answer the same as much as possible.

  12. I'm with GoBlue. My answers usually depend on how a question is asked - if someone is ignorant, I do tend to be give answers that may be a bit rude, but if someone seems to be honestly curious about something then I'll be as polite as I can be.

Looking back on some of my answers - even the nicer ones seem to be a bit snippy. Eh, character flaw; I tend to call it as I see it.

Legit: Our Chihuahua has a whole bunch of them that our APBT, who rips up squeaky toys in no time, has been trying to steal.
