Question:

Do you ask questions here just to feel justified?

I keep seeing question after question that goes along the lines of "Why do (these people I hate) do (this thing I think is stupid)?!!"

Personally, It really bothers me, because it's not a real question-- the person asking it just wants to hear people agree with them. And no matter how well-worded and reasonable the answers may be, they'll always pick the one they agree with as the best.

Do you do that, and if so, why?

Are you annoyed when you see it?

Do you answer them?

  1. yes

  2. Well, it seems to me (with all my respect) that you are doing the same thing and are asking this question to get people to agree with you. ;)

  3. While I will admit that those who ask those sorts of questions just to receive an agreeable answer can be frustrating, I think we all do this at one point or another. It's nothing to get angry over. Some people need justification to back up their feelings, and while I do this sometimes, if I can find a non-judgemental and intelligent answer that persuades me to see the other point of view while at the same time acknowledging my feelings, that's the best kind of answer. I will answer them if I agree or seriously disagree. It doesn't annoy me. If it bothers you so much, just ignore the question. Many times people need the attention to feel better about themselves, so simply don't give it to them.
