  1. I've yet to see a question that wasn't meant to have TML angle to it. I mean for gawd's sake Haley, who do you think posts those " who's better Sid or Ovie" questions - Leaf scouting staff, of course. So I feel obligated to answer accordingly. While you're on the subject, do you think we'll get Tavares?

  2. If I did that people would think it were someone else taking over my mind.

I have to be a homer and a beacon of wisdom in the desolation that is known as the centre of the hockey universe.

    Love and Peace,

    Tom

PS I've lost my badge around here somewhere anybody seen it?

  3. Yes. Some of the fans on here can be quite vicious. But I will give a homerish answer when a Pens fan is asking a question.

  4. go griffins (grand rapids)!!!

    WOO HOO!

    ("they're goalie is SOOO hot")

actually, yes. (i DO avoid answering)

homer answers are a dime a dozen and don't add to the question. plus i don't like repeating the same answer as someone else, even IF it isn't homerish. unless it's VERY insightful and different. (and i try to give them credit).

yeah, but tom, your "homerism" is very well balanced. don't be so modest. there are some homers on here that make you look as excited as a slug.

the badges are worthless. you can have mine if i ever get one. i can't stand those things. i'd pay (if possible) to find a way to purposely remove it. (i've heard about doctoring the 360 profile, but i can't use 360 out of my workplace). anyway, tom, i know that you're probably the oldest, while being most faithful, wing fan on here (since Mr. Hockey was a rookie). you don't need a badge to cement your credibility.

add - tom, sorry, that was my fault. i started that stir. i somehow mistakenly combined your longevity as a fan, w/ your apt knowledge of the red wings, into a red wing fan. I apologize. I was wrong. You just are pretty astute in your observations and comments about the wings, to the point where you are more knowledgeable than a lot of wings fans. Hence my (misplaced) comments about homerism (w/ respect to the wings). I realized my mistake.

However, that being said, for whatever it’s worth, you don’t seem like much of an extreme homer to me, (such that you’re blinded from objectivity … that’s a compliment, btw). In fact, I’m not even sure which team you DO root for? I’d guess Leafs? 2nd guess is Habs?

Anyway, sorry to you and everyone else for the confusion.

  5. no.i answer to the best of my ability then state i am toronto fan.

  6. no i don't care if is sound a little homerish

  7. No I have to be a Homer sometimes!

  8. All hockey fans are homerish! That's not always bad...

  9. Tocchet - Lemieux - Stevens was the best Power Forward line in NHL histoire.  Notice the punctuation at the end of that sentence (.).

  10. Nah, I answer it anyways. Usually, I'll acknowledge that it's a homer answer and I will be acting like one accordingly.

    LEAFS FOR THE CUP!! Sorry....

  11. No. I answer. For instance'

    Q: Thomas Vanek...overpaid, overrated?

A: He makes too much but every yr his cap number lowers. It's only about 8mil this year. We had to sign him though. We had just lost Drury and Briere and this was a neccesity. Besides he played better down the stretch. Early he struggled w//ot Brierer or Drury on the PP but seemed to adjust in the final months. I expect a bounce back yr. Since Febuary he had 24goals in a little over 2months

Also he had a different line. Roy wasn't centering his line this yr and his linemates Afinogenov and Stafford struggled

    Biased but I answered

  12. Awesome! Awesome question. Honestly i have only answered some questions to get me into the second level and as soon as i was there, i stopped and now i rarely answer questions-either i dont know enough about the situation to answer so i just read the answers (learn something new every day) or i am just too lazy or the question is just so common that its boring. Awesome question!

  13. No, sometimes I get so homerish I make Mike look tame. ;)

  14. No cause thats the only thing I know aboot hockey is my Flyers and the rest of the section will know I'm a fraud if I answer other teams.....I think they know that already though.LOL

Did you know we were 2 time Stanley Cup Champions?

  15. Never.

  16. Not if I know I'm right lol

  17. No. If they want my opinion and it comes off as homerish, oh well. That is what they asked for.

  18. no

  19. I don't think I'm a super homer, but I'm a proud Devils fan and I'll defend my team.  So nope, I don't avoid them.

  20. yup

  21. Not really.

Thats because i'm a homer.  I've learned to accept that and i'm almost immune to the fact that i am now.

And to answer your questions, Sharks in '09!

  22. Not necessarily. On the rare occasion a question is asked concerning the NYI, I would answer because it's something I know more about. I will usually avoid answering if what I was thinking has already been said numerous times.

The Islanders will get Tavares! Oh wait, they just traded the pick to Toronto for McCabe.

  23. Nope. I have a LOT of homer answers on here.

  24. I tend to answer those quicker....Anyone who knows me truly realizes that!!! I don't mind being Homerriffic at all.

  25. No.  I like to answer questions with unbias facts but bias commentary.  I think I offend a lot of people, but I just happened to be very opinionated in addition to being well-informed.  I tell it like it is.  "The way it is" just happens to give reason to inflate my homer ego.

It depends on the question.  If I don't like the question, they won't like the answer.  However, any ignorance I display is intentional.  I do like to know what I'm talking about.  My answers can be taken either way.

Tom...a Wings fan since Mr. Hockey was a rookie?  My hat goes off to you sir, or any fan with that type of insight.

  26. Actually, I intentionally answer questions sometimes, if I think I can come up with a really homerish answer, often involving Sid. (You know me, ever the people-pleaser. I just give the people what they want.)

Seriously though, sometimes certain questions make me think of an answer that I do realize is homerish, so I put it down and then say "this is what I thought at first, but then re-thought things..." as a sort of "I learned something today" kind of deal. There have been times though when I've answered completely oblivious to my own homerism. That's where you good people come in and blast me for it. Lol, it's another way to learn a lesson.

  27. I (Detroit) have (Red) never (Wings) been (Zetterberg) a (Lidstrom) homer!

  28. My ego prevents me from abstaining from imparting my EXPERT hockey knowledge.
