For instance, do you think all atheists are like us R&S atheists? Or that all Christians are like brutal fundie R&S Christians? Because that's not good if you do that.

  1. I think anyone posting on R&S is a moron including me but hey it passes the time - no need for the brain to work

  2. It's certainly raised a question in my mind as to how many fundamentalist Christians in "real life" actually harbor the same kind of hatred -- especially toward Catholics -- that we see displayed here, but keep it pretty much under wraps except among themselves.  It's unsettling to think that maybe my nice churchgoing neighbor who smiles and waves when I drive by would treat me much differently if he knew there was a holy water font and a crucifix in my foyer.

Anonymity tends to give us all license to let out our inner pit bull.  Or attack cat, as the case may be.  :)

  3. Do I think all atheists are like the militant R&S anti-christians who masquerade as "atheists"?  No way.  I'm not that cynical!

  4. Well, the atheists I know in person don't wear limes on their heads, but the fundies I've met in person do seem to wear blinders, not unlike the ones here.  ;)

No, I form my opinions of people on an individual basis and based on who they are as a whole, not just their standpoint on religion.

But if I come across someone who can't stop pushing their religion on me and telling me what to think/believe/feel and how to live my life, chances are we aren't going to become friends.

  5. No I don't think so, but here in the R&S everyone has their own opinions and ideas.

  6. No, not at all.

    I live IRL.

  7. Not necessarily, although I have met some people in real life who act like some people here.  In my criminal defense and divorce practice.  :(

  8. Sometimes, when I see things manifest in RL that I've only seen before on R&S, I feel like "yeah, I KNOW this already!"

Like my brother and sister-in-law are now some kind of Pentecostal people and they are studying that dinosaur/man stuff, and lapping it up like it was farm cream.

    I raised my eyebrow.

  9. Are you serious?!!! You can't be serious. Is he serious??!!

  10. You mean all Atheists and Agnostics aren't handsome and highly literate?

  11. Actually, I like every atheist I know in 'real' life. A few on here are jerks.  :)

On the other hand, I have YET to meet a fundie in 'real' life who acts any different than the nasty ones on here. And I used to belong to one of their churches so I know many...

  12. Thats a good point, maybe I have. But I hope all atheists are as funny as you are.

  13. Nope. I was raised by Christians and grew up in Christian community. While every other Christian in the world won't be exactly like those Christians, I got a pretty good, first hand look, at a big cross-section of Christians over a period of 29 years.

Some are like the ones here. Some are far more reserved and others are far worse. Just depends on the person.

  14. no, sometimes in real life it gets worst...

    you can't know

  15. I base my opinions of agnostics and Pagans from the people I meet on R&S.  Which is to say, they are generally nice and thoughtful people.

  16. Is so "good!"

Here people are honest, and from all over.

I categorize people from what's on the inside, not the outside.  How is categorizing and judging a person for their inside "not good?"

I guess I'm just not a superficial person. xD

  17. No- this place is a monkey cage- everyone's throwin' some S**t around.  I base my opinions on people on their behavior.
