Yes or no... im just wondering what the comparison is for believers and non-believers. I myself, still ponder between the two, more so agree on natural warming.

  1. well why not ?

the world is heating up .

we can all feel it .

its not as cold or snowy or windy as it should be .

    but its getting better .

the earth goes through this process anyways ,

but the increasment of littering ,

    using too much gas .

and cutting down the trees that creates oxegyen are making it over the top .

  2. i do believe in global warming

especially after watching "an inconvenient truth"

  3. Yes.  There are many basic scientific facts which can only be explained if the current global warming is being caused by an increased greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide accumulating in the atmosphere from humans burning fossil fuels.

For example, the planet is warming as much or more during the night than day.  If the warming were due to the Sun, the planet should warm a lot more during the day when the Sun has influence.  Greenhouse gases trap heat all the time, so they warm the planet regardless of time of day.  Another example is that the upper atmosphere is cooling because the greenhouse gases trap the heat in the lower atmosphere.  If warming were due to the Sun, it would be warming all layers of the atmosphere.

We know it's warming, and we've measured how much:

Scientists have a good idea how the Sun and the Earth's natural cycles and volcanoes and all those natural effects change the global climate, so they've gone back and checked to see if they could be responsible for the current global warming.  What they found is:

Over the past 30 years, all solar effects on the global climate have been in the direction of (slight) cooling, not warming.  This is during a very rapid period of global warming.

    http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/media/pro...

So the Sun certainly isn't a large factor in the current warming.  They've also looked at natural cycles, and found that we should be in the middle of a cooling period right now.

"An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that 'Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years.'"

So it's definitely not the Earth's natural cycles.  They looked at volcanoes, and found that

    a) volcanoes cause more global cooling than warming, because the particles they emit block sunlight

    b) humans emit over 150 times more CO2 than volcanoes annually

So it's certainly not due to volcanoes.  Then they looked at human greenhouse gas emissions.  We know how much atmospheric CO2 concentrations have increased over the past 50 years:

And we know from isotope ratios that this increase is due entirely to human emissions from burning fossil fuels.  We know how much of a greenhouse effect these gases like carbon dioxide have, and the increase we've seen is enough to have caused almost all of the warming we've seen over the past 30 years (about 80-90%).  You can see a model of the various factors over the past century here:

This is enough evidence to convince almost all climate scientists that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.

  4. No and thanks for asking.

  5. I have done this survey. "I asked do you believe in man made global warming? answer yes or no". I had 39 answers and 8 of them said that they did not believe in AGW, of these 8 a further 5 found it was not possible to answer yes or no and infact went on to post links to 'I hate Al Gore' websites and be rude and/or insulting. I actually found that the deniers said the most with what they did not say. I also think that they are a very amusing bunch. I am surprised that they like to be connected as a group when they all come across as narrow minded, head in the sand, half wits. Not one of them has a single sane or sensible arguement to make and as such I can not take them as a sensible group.

  6. Yes, the earth is warming. No, it's most likely not our fault. Do yourself a favor and READ more than just the headlines when it comes to global warming stories. Pay close attention to sentences like, "the study found that the earth is warmer now than it has been in 22,000 years". Um....

Doesn't this lead you to believe that the findings of the study showed that the earth then was at least as warm or warmer than now? If so, was it out SUV's and lightbulbs that did it? LOL.

Look, run a search online for the "great global warming swindle" and begin reading deeper into the subject. You'll find that there is no money in saying that global warming is merely a phase the earth has gone through time after time through millions of years. Research grants are handed out by scaring the c**p out of people.

In 50 years, we'll all be able to laugh at this. But even if the earth is warming, as will reach levels not seen in tens of thousands of years, the earths most prosperous times were in warmer periods. Get scared when you hear that there is an ice age coming. Then we are really screwed ;-)

  7. I believe in Global Warming. Even if you don't believe it's real, you can't tell me you haven't notice it being alot hotter in the summers lately...The signs are everywhere and super obvious. If it isn't really happening, does that mean we should still continue to treat our Planet Earth like garbage? No...it means that we should try our best to conserve energy, slow down carbon emissions and do our part to stop the Global Warming. Even if it isn't real, you have to give something like that the benefit of the doubt and take proper precautions JUST IN CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. It isn't a question of "belief", it's a compilation of a great many facts agreed upon by reputable scientists around the world.  It is the single most profound threat to the human race we have ever encountered.

  9. yes unfortunately and it Will get worse.
