I am sure China sponsored the U.S., but it didn't tell America to go to war. China sponsored a lot of countries, and it doesn't have the right to tell them what to do.

Go ahead boycotting the Olympics in China. It is just a sport show. Nobody would care.

I have no doubt at all that China is effectively sponsoring genocide in Sudan.  They are doing it in a number of ways:

- Continuing to explore and extract oil in Sudan, even in areas that are disputed

- Selling modern weaponry and providing training to the Sudanese military.  These weapons are directly used in the genocidal campaign against Darfuris as they were once used against the southern sudanese

- Repeatedly using their veto power in the security council to prevent it from taking action against Sudan

- Expressing only the smallest possible objection when the Sudanese government commits horrendous acts against Darfuris

The only reason the Chinese government takes even minor action (like gentle complaining) against the Sudanese government is because of their fear that the Olympics will be affected.  Once the Olympics are over it will be open season in Darfur.

I do feel we should boycott the Olympics - not that I expect it to make a difference but it will at least postion us on the side of justice.

I sure hope so. I don't think we are..Nobody in here is going to the Olympics. You can't boycott something you didn't plan on attending.LOL
