And don't give me that "now we call it climate change", or "local anomolies don't count" rhetoric...we're talking an entire country experiencing the coldest weather in 100 years here.

  1. They already have.... Don't you research before you post your questions? They are putting economic growth above global warming on their priority list, but they have made numerous statements that they are concerned about global warming.

  2. At least they want to try:

  3. No, but they might get concerned about exponential growth in global energy consumption.  Eventually we are going to have to stop using fossil fuels for the simple reason that they will become scarce.

  5. Sooner or later, I think they're going to have to. Obviously, America has the highest emissions, but China isn't too far behind. I personally think that things are going to get so bad that everyone's going to have to suck it up and do something or we'll all just die.

  6. no, because then they would have to admit fault and they aren't going to do that.

  7. No, China will not, they have nothing to gain. I am sure the Global Warming believers will come up with some excuse why China has had the coldest winter in over 100 years.

  8. its local temps, not global. if this was sustained for several years this argument may have some merit but currently it just a dumb argument.

PS try looking at the global temps over a few years. http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2007/

  9. The Chinese do accept global warming and are quite concerned about it. They want to continue their rapid economic expansion, but they are already seeing huge new problems caused by ignoring environmental issues.

You are confusing a winter weather extreme with a global long-term warming trend.
