Do you believe Golf should be reinstated into the Summer Olympics? Why or why not?

I was reading on Yahoo! Sports today that the Professional Golfers Association is going to see if they can reinstate golf again for the Summer Olympics starting again in 2016. Golf was last played at the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis, Missouri USA and although the sport is a game played all over the world, it is not a part of the Summer Olympics.

Do you beleive Golf should be reinstated for the Summer Olympics? Why or why not?

YES - But only by true amateurs.  100% open to all collegiate, high school and juniors, open to all seniors, club players (no club pros, no instructors, etc.)  Kind of a throwback to the Bobby Jones type of golfer.  

The last time I checked I didn't see a professional  curling league... Those guys pay to practice and play.  Golf (and ALL other olympic sports) should hold to these same ideals.  Trash the US Dream Team scam - it is just for ratings.

I believe it should be but it is doubtful since the United States already plays the Ryder Cup vs Europe and the President's Cup..the whole PGA Tour is diverse though so it almost is like what the Olympics would be like if they had golf

It should, a lot of the world plays it and we will totally own ***.  The Brits may beat us along with the scottish.

Because it would be freakin awesome. Everyone would watch that. I would love for it to be in there. It deserves it just as much as any other sport.

I guess it would be nice, but look at it this way, do players want to play for their country or for money. ask yourself that. professional golfers are only human.

Nah, there's no need for it. We already have the Ryder Cup and the President's Cup.

Besides, would it be fun to see the top pros beat the snot out of low-ranked pros from Belize, Jordan and Morocco just to see the same guys that we see at all the big events compete for the title? And wouldn't any team competition be between America, South Africa and a few European countries, just like the Ryder and President's cup is anyway?

I'm a big golf fan but I don't like the idea of golf in the Olympics.

Yes is should be, if ping pong are curling are olympic sports, so should golf!
