They're set to review state-level programs to combat global climate change and to develop a strategy for future action. Do you think their actions will have an impact on the Presidential race?

This meeting is the centenial of a Conference of Governors 100 years ago, that resulted in the groundwork for the National Parks Service and state-protected lands. I'm thinking that the Governors are going to make a statement with their actions, particularly Gov. Schwarzenegger, who is suing the federal government for stymying efforts in California to take action.

  1. The steroids messed up Arnie's brain. If My Governor voted for it, I'd vote against him.

  2. I am all for it, at least one is doing something constructive for a change. I think we need more people of that calibre.

  3. Yes, our state governors have actually done a good job at beginning to address global warming, unlike the federal government.  Schwarzenegger in particular has led many western state governors toward an agreement on greenhouse gas emissions regulations.  I'm optimistic that they'll come up with some good strategies at this conference.

  4. When people in power sit down to talk there is always a chance of something positive happening!

  5. I don't think so, the security, the economy, fuel pries and the housing crunch will be the main topics that the Presidential race will be focused on, because those that are the issues that are affecting people. The average US citizen does not feel threatened by rising sea levels, a dwindling polar bear population or any of the other global warming prdecitions set to occur at some time in the future. With citizens and politicians alike it is all about the here and now, at least in the US.

    Glad to see back....
