  1. No, you get good grades if you put time and effort into things, not if you are nice to your teacher but you still should be!

  2. I would like to tell you that your grades are only the result of how well you perform in class.  However, I do know some teachers are a little more lenient on students that they like.

We would like to think teachers are more professional than that, and most probably are. But at the same time, teachers are human. I know from experience, that it is sometimes hard to fail people that you know personally, can put a face to a name, and someone you have good rapport with.

Plus, it tends to help in those situations where you are border-lining.  Like if you had a 69% in the class, the teacher might decide to curve you up to a C (70%) if you were respectful and showed interest and effort in the class.  If you're a slacker though, were disrespectful, then the teacher will probably be more reluctant to curve in your favor.  Why should a teacher help out a student who didn't care and was rude?

  3. Weeelll, I believe that if you are respectful and kind towards your teacher and she/he sees that you are struggling with a subject...she/he will go out of his/her way to ensure you understand the material taught....if you are disrespectful and/or unkind....the teacher will likely think..."too bad so sad"

So, to answer your question...being nice will definately help you in the long run.

  4. No, but it will help you gain things like additional instruction (which can lead to better grades), recommendations (which can lead to better opportunities) and word of mouth between teachers (which can lead to additional instruction and opportunities in other classes).

So overall, it's a good thing to be nice and respectful to teachers.  It's also good training for college (being respectful to profs) and the job market (putting your best foot forward with employers). :)

  5. Ofcourse yes!!

It means, when you share your motives and goals to your teacher, and when you make him realise that you're ambitious, it creates a good impression, and yes, it helps you get good grades.

  6. Id rather have a nice student than a jerk in class. It probably would help. I would take an interest in them and make sure they were doing their best. I try to see the good in everyone though.

  7. No, I do not believe being nice would earn you a better grade.

You will have to work higher on your grades.

  8. That alone won't earn you good grades, but it certainly won't hurt.

Besides, you should be nice to everyone.

  9. if you speak to a person on their level it will help but kissing their *** will only cause you problems , treat them with respect and let them know you value their opinions and don't just look at your lesson as text book ask questions . looking at things from all angles will get their attention because they come their because they enjoy learning themselves and they enjoy teaching. try not to be arrogant though.
