If so, which ones, and what experiences have you had. If not why not?

  1. I strongly believe ESP and Telepathy work. Just about everyone has experienced it.

Best example I can give people of spontaneous Telepathy is when you're thinking about someone, and when you ring them (or something), they say they were just about to call (or whatever) you. Just inately knowing what someone is going to do before it happens. The idea of "hearing someones thoughts" like you see on Heroes or something, not real. But it does exist. For most people, it's just subconcious.

  2. Yes to all.

An example of this occurred when I was but a wee lad. I used to watch Futurama (Favorite show ever, by the way) all the time on Adult Swim. I remember watching the first two seasons constantly. However, I didn't know that they made more episodes. I figured what I saw was all they made.

I remember mowing the lawn one afternoon, and I had this funny feeling that I was going to see a new episode of Futurama. Even though I thought they only made two seasons, I had this crazy feeling that new episodage would occur. That was the night Adult Swim first aired the third season of Futurama.

Other examples come to mind, but most are sorta personal, and I believe the aforementioned one is an interesting anecdote.

An experience I had with ESP occured recently, where my math teacher asked the class "What's that one childhood story?" and I muttered, under my breath, "Hansel and Gretel".

Then she said "You know, the one with the breadcrumbs?" Thank you and goodnight.

  3. Yes, I do believe in all of the above.. In one way or another, they are similar.  I guess if I had to choose the main one that I connect with it would have to be the empathic abilities.

I have been told that I am one. All I know is, I can actually feel the hurt or joy of other people I come in contact with. Through out the years I have tried to control my emotions especially if sadness is the overwhelming emotion that is being felt.  I do try to help others with this gift.  I believe that our paths  cross for one reason or another so, I try to make the best of the situtation because, I know that I'm also learning from the  experience at that time.

  4. I believe that human beings have more powers of perception than we are used to thinking about from the five senses.  Often, we do not pay attention to them, because we have been taught that only "logical thinking" is valid.

But, yes, I think that people have all of these abilities in various degrees.

  5. Absolutely! Especially empathy and psychic links. Whether I am an empath or just very good at reading people is still in doubt to me but I have gone into rooms full of people and watched my emotional state change to that of the general crowd.(And visa versa)  I have always had a talent for finding where people hurt both physically and mentally without being clued.

I have also had several experiences where I knew someone close to me was hurt or dead as far away as Ca from NY. The latest was the night my nephew died in a meth related car wreck. I e mail everyone on the west coast, ( Just the Ca. bunch) asking them to humor me and let me know they were OK. About 12 hours later he died. This is one of many. Don't get me going on ghostly encounters. I have also known couples that finished each others sentences and seemingly thoughts. That could be just knowing each so well but still...

  6. No, I don't think there is sufficient evidence to believe in any of these things, and I am very aware of the evidence that is out there. And as someone else already said, "empathic abilities" are not paranormal. Normal healthy human beings can detect the emotions of others using their natural senses, e.g., tone of voice, facial expressions, body language, etc.

It's also my opinion (I'm not a psychologist) that those people who think they have paranormal empathic abilities could really have agoraphobia, or fear of crowds, and that fear manifests itself as overwhelming emotion via a psychosomatic response, which they interpret as paranormal empathy. It's way to cope by turning a negative (a phobia) into a positive (a paranormal ability).

  7. yep....before i used to study....i used to meditate to help me study better, and i would get these weird feeling like something was going to happen and it did! i stopped though bc i became aware of everythin around me, & scared the ghosts in my house were going to try to scare me so i stopped, lol. I also practiced meditating, bc i wanted to be like chriss angel :P & i would try while meditating to move something, but i couldn't. Try to close your eyes and concentrate deeply like in the zone.

  8. I do believe. I have empathic abilities, can feel others emotions, that I do every day. Can be rather stressful in the grocery store. Shoppers are cranky on Sunday! lol Quite a lot lately someone's thought will pop into my head just before the words come out of their mouth. And when I say this, I mean word for word exactly as they were in my head. And not just someone I know well enough to know what they're next thoughts are--we're talking relative strangers, like someone I bump into at church. Or the waiter at the IHOP I went to. Or the guy in the bowling alley.

I've never really had a sense of deja vu except to say that I get a strong feeling of being older than I am, that I've been here before. I know some very gifted clairvoyants who can very accurately describe things in your home.

  9. ESP - Yes.

    Empathic abilities - Yes.

Deja Vu - Yes (with 2 explanations)

Telepathy - Yes but there is no actual test possible.

ESP is supported by experimental evidence that is both statistically significant and methodologically sound

"Rosenthal, after considering the possible influence of various flaws upon study outcome, concluded that the overall hit rate of the studies could be estimated to be 33 percent, whereas chance expectancy was 25 percent."

    (link below)

"Using the standards applied to any other area of science, it is concluded that psychic functioning has been well established. The statistical results of the studies examined are far beyond what is expected by chance. Arguments that these results could be due to methodological flaws in the experiments are soundly refuted. Effects of similar magnitude to those found in government-sponsored research at SRI and SAIC have been replicated at a number of laboratories across the world. Such consistency cannot be readily explained by claims of flaws or fraud."

Empathy requires no psychic ability just careful observation and a caring person. If you have ever had a good nurse or doctor and one that wasn't so good you know first hand who is capable of being empathic.

Deja Vu (link below) can be a misfiring of the brain encoding memory which gives you the sense of being there or having the experience before. That explanation fails when you are able to provide details of rooms you have not yet been in or seen when visiting a new location. In that case ESP, Universal Consciousness, etc. is the more applicable and better fitting explanation.

Telepathy (reading peoples minds) has no true test available. For example if the Amazingly Dishonest Randi thinks of a pink unicorn and you say "you are thinking of a pink unicorn" He will say no I was thinking of a black model T (or some other lie) and there is no evidence that either one of you was correct or incorrect. So you write the information down in order to have something to confirm it and then you have created the possibility of getting the information from the paper rather than the other person's mind.

  10. i believe in deja vu cause it happened to me alot, and abt reading peoples mind, i kinda do that because i can read their faces, i can expect what they will say or do, mostly i succeed in that, i really do focus on some ones face and expressions and then i can tell what they might be thinking.. for example...oncei was walking with my bf..he suddenly saw something but i didnt knw what it was, but frm the look on his face i knew it was his ex..although i didnt c her at all. frm the look on his eyes i knew its some one he hates, and frm the way he looked at me as if he is telling me lets take another road..another example for dija vu..i was wlaking also with my bf in the library and suddenly out of now where i felt that this happened b4, i expected what was going to happen and it really happened, the nice thing is that this situation imagined it b4 knowing my b4, and happenned after 7 months we became a couple , it just felt so nice :D

  11. I had the experience of something coming to me on the other side of the world and telling me that a loved one had just died.  I don't think I read anything but some being came into my mind and told me.
