I believe that unidentified flying objects [UFO] do exist and can be removed from the list of reports when an object later becomes identifiable by an aviation or aeronautics expert based on details in the statements and reports about an incident. When identifiable, the next stage is to attempt to identify it as a specific model or type of aircraft, helicopter, bomber, balloon or envelope for military or civilian use and so on. If that is not achievable to a high degree of certainty then the incident should stay on the list of reports for unidentified objects and the reports could be re-examined at a later date.
I have had an encounter with an aerial device in 1963-64 in England and the reports and statements remain classified, but some redacted documents were released a few years ago and are in the National Archives in England. I witnessed some activities in the air and I escaped almost unharmed, the incident was recorded and witnessed by many people in the surrounding area with some film and photos preserved for the files. A power outage occurred in the area for 3 to 4 hours and a number of officials in the area gave details to the later inquiries. I retained some small artefacts from the incident and some of them were on display at a museum in London for several years. The power source of the device was a kind of magnetic motor which produced an anti-gravitational effect which resulted in the device hovering at a height of 300 feet approximately.
