  1. No, I don't believe in them. When it comes to knowing the future, I run into many of the same paradoxes that come up with time travel - it just doesn't seem logically possible.

As for the principle of divination with cards - its a pack of playing cards (and tarot is a pack of PLAYING cards - they were invented for card games and are still used for game play throughout continental Europe) and, to borrow from Adams, no more know your destiny than a tea leaf knows the history of the East India Company. Not only is there a lack of evidence to support this but the evidence speaks against it.

Astrology seems to be the most strange - how can objects at such a distance affect who we are and the course of our destiny? To start with, the choice of signs was rather arbitrary and is now out of date anyway - the stars do 'move' over time and so the signs we attribute to people are out by about a month.

This is an interesting piece on the subject:

  6. no

  7. yes i do

in terms of astrology, people say, "how can planets so far away have any effect on me?"  the reason is, we live on a planet in an energetic system, it IS all ONE system and it is connected even though many of us have lost the subtle energetic feelings living in this system creates.  it is the ORDER of the universe and we are a part of it.  i hope that the same people that are saying, "it can't be proven" are atheists, because, obviously, God cannot be proven either.  there are MANY things that exist, yet cannot be PROVEN, that doesn't mean they don't exist.

you know, for me, it's simply information, it feeds my curiousity, it opens the door for me to see my present reality  in another way.  i can say yes or no to that information.  personally, i prefer to allow that door to information to remain open rather than closed out of fear, suspicion, or whatever else might block my natural curiousity

  8. tarot card when done properly.... yes

    the rest.... no

  9. no, i dont believe, they just want to take your money.

  10. Yes I do. All of it. Personal exp. I have analyzed alot of people and they are true to their signs. I recently had my cards ready by two different people in a frame of 2 weeks and they told me the exact same thing. Things from my past, present, and future.

    Sadhara

  13. i do. =)

    they r right for me..

  14. not at all...

normally my horoscopes and everything are totally wrong.

  15. Believing a little bit is like being a little bit pregnant. It's either yes or no, no inbetween. Don't people want to know instead of blindly believing?

When somebody steps up, goes on a limb, and proves to the world by winning the million dollar Randi Prize. Then maybe, but it will not happen.

  16. People want to believe a kind of mystical, metaphysical force guides our lives and can be foreseen through star charts or the turn of a card. Unfortunately no such force has ever been demonstrated empirically.

The better course is to follow your moral compass and leave fate to itself. Your life will be the richer for it.

  17. yes but to an certain extent
