If you don't how could you possibly consider Palin as VP and possibly President if McCain croaks?

  1. I read that and found this book banning to be very disturbing.  I'd like, however, to know what books Frau Palin had in mind.  Does anyone have a link for the specific books?

  2. Big Brother is watching you.  Preserve your copy of 1984 before it gets banned.

It is really not surprising since censorship is a common them among the religious right radicals.

  3. absolutely NOT!  material thats inappropriate for children can be kept in  different section and monitored by library staff.

    palin is  a ridiculous cow!

in that case bob children should be allowed to vote, drink and smoke.

  4. Hustler, swank, penthouse...   Should these also be on the shelves for our kids to check out?

Some books shouldn't be available to everyone.  More examples would be the anarchists cook book, poor mans james bond, etc.

Yes, I believe that libraries open to children should prevent them from getting x-rated materials.

Well hang on, if you are talking about keeping them in a different section, aren't you censoring the publication from some citizens?

  5. I read that article too, and having worked in both local government and the private sector, and having been in management in both, I bet you there is more to that story that just the side that is presented here.

  6. well that would depend on the age of the children and the books that were in question. just like ratings on a movie or dvd have an age limit i dont see why the same could not be applied toward books. there are some things i would not want my kids to read, so i wouldnt have a problem as a parent with that. there is a lot of trash out there someone should speak out and say so. i bet if that book were the Bible you would not have any problem throwing it out, or am i wrong about that one too. so i am sorry if my child were below a certain age you bet i would want to know what they are reading. i had recently a note sent home with my child from the teachers saying they could possibly be shown flims with violence and bad language in them, why is that necessary to be shown in school, i did not give my permission, kids hear enough trash on tv as it is. why is it when morals and bad ideals for kids are in questions so many people just allow it to happen! sorry i have to agree with miss palin on this one.

  7. No.

    But then I'm not a n**i.

  8. as long as the book(s) do not contain pornography or how to make meth recipes, then no problem. Only for the protection of children. let the kids be kids for goodness sakes.
