I am currently in college studying education. They don't teach us to assault children with paddles. So why is it happening?

  1. well who knows we all know that detention does not work and time out does not work either so i suppose some teacher feel like they have to take matters into their own hands

  2. No!!!

I actually can't see any kid willingly submit to corporal punishment by a teacher anyway.

It is bad enough I have to take it from my dad. And it makes me want to assault someone more.

  3. YES YES AND YES!!

Why is WHAT happening?? Using paddles in schools? I've never heard of it in the past 20 yrs

That's why the kids are so horrible in schools now.

  4. No. It's my job to discipline my child.

It's the school's job to provide education (beyond test preparations). In concert, any academic issues, we work together to resolve with the teacher taking a professional lead, but behavior issues, working in concert, and it's MY lead. An education who raises a hand or paddle to my child will lose that hand (figuratively).

I don't believe in homeschooling, or school vouchers. I work hard and pay my taxes and resent ALL politicians who cut the Education Funding (including the arts and music programs -cut football first). Therefore, I expect much from teachers and they can expect much from me (as a parent).
