  1. If you truly understood evolution you could see why it is possible we evolved from primates.  Just because there are primates still around today does not mean we never evolved from them.  Evolution is like a family tree - it branches off from an originator and produces a new organism.  When your mother bore you did your mother disappear right after?

  2. No, I don't. It is too full of assumptions, guesses, lies, poor logic, and dogma to be considered science. Life only comes from life. Monkeys come from monkeys. Natural selection stabilizes a population. It does not make anything new. Mutations are harmful and usually deadly. Life, the earth, and space are full of information and complexity that cries out design. Evolutionists are devoted to protecting their philosophy instead of investigating it. The founding fathers of science like Newton, Galileo, Pasteur and others would be rolling in their graves if they say what was going on today.

  3. The fact that we share genetic links to other species on this plane is not conclusive evidence that we evolved from apes. Who really knows where we came from, we share nearly as much DNA with pigs as we do apes. Somehow I cant make the connection. I do think we are on to the answer with DNA but I think it is ultimately lifetimes away. We are only beginning to understand how our genetics protect our existence on this earth from generation to generation. I also believe it will be our ultimate undoing. We understand genetics enough to tamper with it but we don't really know what it will ultimately lead to. The most frightening thing now is realizing that we may unleash some genetic "monster" if you will and it will kill us all.

  4. "Believe in"? You mean a blind, unreasoning belief?

Because that's not what those who accept the truth of evolution do -- have blind belief based on faith.

The evidence for evolution is overwhelming.

If you understood anything about it at all, you wouldn't have asked this question.

Since you don't understand it at all, you're not in a position to call it junk.

Most people accept the truth of evolution.

    Go here,

    http://evolution.berkeley.edu/

and click the link Understanding Evolution, then the link to the kinds of evidence that supports it.

If you refuse to learn anything about it, you're not in a position to say it's wrong. That's like saying, I don't know what's in this box, but I don't like it. (It might be the thing you love most -- if you don't know what it IS, you're not in a positiion to say how you feel about it, are you?)

  5. Absolutely not.  I believe in the bible and the way it said the earth was made.  I believe in God and his Son Jesus.

  6. Having taken several years of college level biology, and read numerous articles in magazines such as Science Weekly, of course I believe in evolution.

How can you not? You have been listening to the wrong people.

  7. humans evolved from apes there common ancestors

  8. I believe in evolution as much as I do any other scientific theory that has mountains of evidence behind it.

As for your "why are there still monkeys" question: Modern monkeys and humans share a common ancestor.  Asking why monkeys still exists is akin to asking "If I came from my grandparents then why do my cousins still exist?"

  9. You do not have to..."believe" in evolution.

You do have to understand evolution in order to embrace it. Thankfully, the validity of evolution does not depend upon your ability to understand it.

If the concept is too difficult, why not just believe some religious alternative or other. This approach is much easier and requires very little...mental effort.

  10. Why do you think that we look so similar to Chimpanzees? Coincidence?

We share a common ancestor with other apes, and with monkeys.

If creation is real, then why are there so many creation myths? Ranging from Sumerian to Judeo/Christian to Tolkein.

Evolution explains both the similarities and differences between all organisms on Earth. It is supported by all real branches of science. To the previous respondent who suggested that DNA is shared between pigs, monkeys and humans, a quick comparison will show that we share more DNA with monkeys than we do with pigs, showing we are more closely related to them than we are to pigs. Simple concept really.
