  1. There is no physical proof of them. There is lots of anecdotal evidence that they can be used to improve life when they are pleasant and become sprigboards for progress when negativity is turned to determination and combined with a rational philosophy.

  2. Both! XP the truth of life oredi. why everyone i know all betrayed me and hurt me all the way and even not allowing me to a single cent leh? DOG!

  3. Absolutely i believe in Destiny and fate as they go hand in hand. I also believe if you try and Change what you percieve to be your Destiny you have set your fate....

  4. One once said: "Life is like a game of cards. The hand you are dealt is determinism; the way you play it is free will."

My opinion is that one's route has not been established before its unfolding. On the contrary, one's life can take any course (which does not go against one's nature, of course) one decides.

To be consumed after mating (such as in the case of male black widow spiders) is fate; to set up and maintain a happy human family is free will.

  5. In India , where I live , it is very common to believe in fate as well as destiny.

These words are the last resort to blame when all other avenues to achieve fail.

  6. that is a question to which i have yet to find a satisfactory answer.

  7. yeah!, fado is quite wonderful to listen to....

has a special kind of beauty, that transcends all language barriers.

  8. Yes, sometimes I believe....

    Becoz... I believe

Your own fate may be said to be determined by the time, date and place of your birth. We may say that in some ways it outlines the things to come.

When you were born into this incarnation you were given certain traits and it is up to you to decide what to do with these traits. It is believed you can change the outcome of your fate. But remember this will be done within the context of what you were born with.

Remember you have free choice and you should never allow fate to control your life if it makes you feel unhappy. In the end the final choice is yours.

Destiny is in many ways the final calling to resolve past life issues and put these matters to rest. Destiny is about the future.

Your destiny is affected by the time, place and date of birth but you still have free will. Destiny and fate may not always be so easy to explain or understand. The outcome and difference between your destiny and fate will be determined by you and only you.

  9. That's nearly the same as believing in a god that planned stuff out...

No, nothing is planned out.... it just existed... no reason

  10. actually i do believe in destiny

  11. I'm stumped what the f---- is the difference?

  12. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It depends on what you're talking about.

  13. Yes and no.  It seems certian people are destined to become what they are from birth.  The rest of us sort of mill around trying to find ourselves and taking up time until we expire.

  14. Fate and destiny imply a defined and knowable future.  It does not seem plausible that the future is something that is certain.  Probabilities make certain things likely, but definity is unlikely. Luck is in the same category as fate and destiny.  It is all about probabilities.

  15. Yes!  What else can explain the disparities in people's life right from the moment they are born?  Do we choose the place of our birth,  our parents,  our country?  Some seemingly unworthy are born with a silver spoon while the good and the noble are rotting in hovels....

  16. Yes, because life is unpredictable and a very long life really depends on luck. If you are 'fated' to get a terminal cancer at an early age, then your death is 'destined' or written in the stars, and nothing can be done about it. But dont rush and see a medium to read your 'fate', because that can only make you worry and depressed. Just enjoy the present while you can. Cheers!  ;-)
