  1. It's easier to believe in them when you've had experience of them.

  2. yes.... well the first three. too many talented women and other minorities are passed by. but we are breaking through the celling's.

  3. I've seen a glass ceiling, have painted a wall slippery, and have been to a restaurant with sticky floors.

    Tooth fairy - nah!

    :P

  4. As a former manager glass ceiling exists for women and minorities.  it a personality contest in many respects and those folks don't want to let new folks in the clique.

  5. no,i don't i hope that you don't believe in those silly stuff.

  6. Well its a fact of life=its summat we always face

Its just that theres some areas  dominated by males cause they  generally excel best at it for generations their interest

eg.  construction, plumbing, maintenance, electrician, historically their jobs are in these roles.  They have heavier brain and the upper body strength and  knack for that.

Areas typically done by women such as midwifery, nursing, primary sch teachers, nannies, secretaries, physiotherapists, admin, payroll, cleaners , fabrics;  measuring out, knitting, making suits and belts etc mending they are in these roles.Which lets face it arent easy jobs so women are very clever too.  Even so folk are in all sorts of industries now  regardless of gender .  People need the staff.  Theres so many on drugs these days that they're glad of anyone.  Once you are in there its easy to climb the ladder if you perform.

  7. I have to believe in the tooth fairy...

or santa wont bring me any presents...

    :D

  8. You all sound very young. The glass ceiling is still very real. We're working on busting through, but yes, I do still believe in it.

It doesn't exist where I work, but I DO see it elsewhere.

Cases in point are Hillary Clinton. All they talked about were her ankles and her laugh. Nevermind about the issues.

And what about this week's news story about the Vatican regretting the decision to allow female bishops? They said that it will ruin everything the church was built on if women are allowed to become bishops.

  9. I believe in the kitchen, where all women belongs.

  10. I would like to review links and intelligent conversation on these points, but "tooth fairy"... come on.

  11. I believe in all of them except the tooth fairy, Mary Poppins told me she doesn't exist.

  12. I think the glass ceiling is self-imposed. Women can only go so far before they decide to have children and make them their priority, as they should. However, it makes it hard for ALL women, especially those who do not want kids, to be taken seriously in the work place because everyone assumes that at some point, they will take their primary focus off their job.

  13. NO...I believe in PRICK ENVY...

Tell you what, I,m so good and i pack quite a package, that some would destroy me cause they can,t have me. You, my friend is never that gifted.

  14. Glass ceilings- yes I do particular believe in and enjoy glass ceilings. It's nice to have a skylight in your kitchen when you're cooking dinner for the men folk who couldn't tell the difference between a laddle and a pasta drainer.

sticky floors- silly if the floors didn't get sticky or dirty then why would we have to mop it? lol of course I believe in sticky floors.

slippery walls- well I've never actually had a slippery wall in my house nor have I actually attempt to climb up the wall to see if it was slippery but I'm sure other people have.

tooth fairy- The Power of the Tooth Fairy compels you!

  15. There indeed is such a thing as a glass ceiling, and it is made of four elements, they are

    Fear, Shame, Guilt, and Blame.

This is the true barrier to women fulfilling their potential

Cant shift and vanquish FEAR because ‘BLAME’ always always smashes the mirror and then finds someone to cast the problem onto

Cant ever quite stand up for its self because of SHAME, which is ever present to point the finger at this and that causing shyness, and ‘Low Self-esteem’ issues

Cant shake ‘shame’ and ‘blame’ because of GUILT, which is there mocking when the actions are Natural ones like childbirth and mother-Love

They conspire to stop the full potential, but never mind hey, well there is always someone ready made to take the blame, who? Oh yes MEN!!! Yes that will do nicely, thanks!!

    Glass Ceilings? you bet.

  16. Just because I don't believe in them doesn't mean that my male chauvinist boss won't.

  17. I believe in glass ceilings....Well, I have a mirrored ceiling, as for the rest....no I was the toothfairy for my little bro and sis

  18. Yes I do and I used to believe in the tooth fairy when I was younger. The tooth fairy and Santa claus are close like siamese twins they know all!

  19. I believe in facts, m**o

  20. I don't believe in any of them, no. I think we've all got to take responsibility for our own lives and careers... I've never been treated as anything less than equal in the workplace.
