Question:

Do you believe in global warming ?

In one of my previous "questions" about the untility of the G8... a few answers came back saying that global warming was "Crying wolf..." Do these people really believe that the 30%??? reduction of the polar ice caps in the past 10 years is because the Pola-bears are using the ice to make gin tonics.... I feel that this is the typical human reaction that it "Won't happen to us" or "It'll never happen here" ....untill it does !!!

What's your opinion ?

  1. The man made global warming theory is dependant on the claim that CO2 stays in the atmosphere for 50 -200 years (IPCC figure). There have been about 3 dozen papers published on this topic using a variety of measuring techniques, they all show figures varying between 5 - 15 years.

Why is this political doctrine is being imposed on us, when the physical evidence does not justify it?

References to this issue can be found in 'Global warming: the continuing debate' from the European Science and Environment Forum.

  2. believe in it, bub?

I don't need to believe in it.

    Its REALITY.

  3. Of course.. without global warming, this earth will all be only ice..

But due to global warming, we are warmed by the re radiation of the sun's light and the action on co2..

But it is bull **** that global warming is causing damages to the environment.

May be due to increase in the usage of co2, there may be additional warming, as a result of which, there is a slight increase in the average temperature of the earth. Nothing else..

  4. No doubt that there are some strange things happening with the weather, but CO2 emissions are not the cause. It is our solar system's sun, which has been progressively increasing heat output steadily. Why are Jupiter and Mars heating up also? The main-stream media have been brainwashing us.

  5. What about that the hottest temp was 11 years ago and its been steadily declining since then?

What about that the south pole is getting thicker?

    Or than temp incrased more from 1900 - 1950 than 1950 - 2000?

Or do you only believe the bits that agree with you and ignore the rest?

  6. No.  We are not capable of breaking something that has been around 4.5 Billion years.

People are not in control of the climate of the Earth.  Others believe it because it makes them feel special and important.

  7. Yes, I COMPLETLEY believe in Global Warming.  And there's this site I really love that talkes all about it:

    http://www.save-r-planet.webs.com/

  8. Global warming is indeed real and has been documented with ice cores dating back tens of thousands of years.

What is NOT real is the quackery that humans caused (or can even affect) global warming.

The scare tactics being perpetrated upon us are only a money/power grab scheme by bottom-feeder politicians accompanied by their so-easily-led sheeple who take their prattle, even their movies, as hard science.

To find that my statement above is true, follow the money.

See just who it is who will profit from the carbon offset, carbon tax, & etc.

Here is truth about global warming:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.

The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.

This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.

Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is

becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).

As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).

When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.

As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.

    Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':

    Humans did not cause it.

    Humans cannot stop it.

  9. definitely. global warming is so right in our faces. im from te philippines and i've seen the effects of global warming in my country. Firstly, typhoon damages have increased exponentially even though these recent typhoons are relatively weaker than those in the past. A few rain and floods came flashing down in in our streets. Why? it's because the relatively warmer air that created typhoons brought in a lot of vapor and moisture from the sea. also, the rising sea level caused by melting polar ice caps increased the risks of coastal towns, as well the low lying areas, to be flooded. Besides the remarkable damage of typhoons, there has also been abnormalities in seasons. we started experiencing dry spells in the middle of the rainy season! in addition to that, we also had storms and typhoons in the middle of the summer! those were truly "new" to us. We've had el ninos and la ninas before but what we experienced the past couple of years was really unusual. Those aside, we ourselves can see evidence of global warming from the unusually warmer climate. world-wide, new records on atmospheric temperatures had been noted. Are those not enough evidence enough? i think that those who refuse to believe what's screaming in front of their faces are flat out ignorants. i pray that they will all realize what is happening before it's too late.

  10. Yes, indeed i do. It is a scary thought. The ice is melting fast, but there is a chance that if the ice starts to melt before there is a hole in the o-zone lair because of global warming, then there is a chance of lands not drowning and many people can survive. You see, there would only be floods and lands drowning if there will be ice melting dramatically which its not. It is melting fast though, but its because the heat is increasing in the atmosphere but the ice is melting slowly, so the lands are still floating on top of the sea but the sea level has rised higher. Have you ever had a bathtub filled with water and a plastic boat on top that floats, and then you start to add water to it slowly, the boat doesn't drown because it is getting time to be on top of the water again. Unless you add all the water dramatically fast, it will drown. If you know what i meen.

If we can postpone the o-zone lair or maybe even reduce the chances of there being a hole, we have MANY chances of survival. Any way it has been predicted that if this continues with the pollution and stuff, then the time till the hole could be created will be in around 40 years. We have a lot of time to save the planet, but we will need to do something for it altogether and not wait for someone else to do it while the other person is thinking the same thing. Please help save us all.

  11. The climate is always going to fluctuate from varying degrees in temperature, but due to extreme levels of carbon dioxide emissions and the expansions of such economy's as India and China with them relying heavily on fossil fuel combustion i don't believe that people can say that human activity is not a factor, if not THE factor.

  12. yes i believe in global warming it's happening right now there will a massive in global temperatures between 2009 and 2014 huge amounts of Co2 will send the mercury rising again check out this website this true

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jh...

  13. Dont believe in global warming.  Do believe in climate change. Tell a lie often enough and sooner or later most people start believing it! We can not and do not affect the weather. Its the biggest con ever worked. All in the aid of money - taxes etc. Its a natural cycle every 400years or so.  Why do you think we have a road called Vine street in London? The British Isles were once a tropical sea and will become one again one day. Man cannot stop this happening. Climate is driven by the sun and solar winds, not us. If it was down to pollution, how come during the industrial revolution - when there was more pollution than now, we had the big freeze of 1947? Cant believe so many people are suckers enough to listen to all the spin.

  14. Like

    the Y2K bug,

Scientists said we were going into a Ice Age in the 70's,

Hayles comet was going to be huge.

Were is the ozone hole now?

Al Gore said that he invented the Internet.

    Why is it called greenland?

I think any heating comes from the sun

and that pollution  is a real concern.

If global warming turns out to be c**p will you

go and sit in the corner  in a dunces hat?

  15. of course its happening and we can't do anything about it

  16. ITS A LOAD OF c**p,ITS JUST ANOTHER WAY TO CONTROL US,,AND MAKE US PAY MORE
