  1. What makes you think you need to choose between the two?

Scientifically, speaking evidence points towards the Big Bang as opposed to other models for the universe.

And there is zero evidence indicating that the universe was created by God.

OTOH, there is also zero evidence that the universe WASN'T created by God; it's just that if He did so, it looks like He used the Big Bang as his mechanism for doing so.

  2. i believe that its the big bang....

although i do believe in something else just not sure what i guess!

  3. The "Big Bang" theory was originally proposed by an MIT educated Catholic priest and was mockingly called the "Big Bang" by atheists. This is a great example of the false dichotomy of Science v. Religion.

  4. Hello,

A lot of people will tell you that you MUST believe in the Big Bang or you MUST believe in God, but you cannot believe in both.  Although I am not religious myself, I see nothing in the Big Bang theory that absolutely rules out the existence of a God.  Of course there's nothing that SUPPORTS the idea that God is real, but that's the point of faith.  If you have faith that God is real and created the universe, then you don't need evidence.  Since science is built entirely of evidence and not on faith, there is no conflict between science and faith (or at least, there shouldn't be).

Don't let anybody tell you that you have to choose; those people don't understand science and aren't very strong in their faith.  If they DID have sufficient faith, they wouldn't need to tear down science every time it appeared that science contradicted the literal interpretation of the Bible.  Try not to be like that: instead, realize that you can worship your God in your own way and still appreciate the wonders that humanity's natural intellect has unlocked.

I hope that helps.  Good luck!

  5. if i had to choose between the two, (you gave me no other option) i would have to choose the big bang, since i don't believe in god at all..

and about cloning, god is the one whom gave us humans the tools to develop the know-how to clone, so, if you do so believe in god, than it seems to me to be totally in his will..

and, GRIBBLIN..., i have to choose between the two because that is how the question is posted.. (im not self-centered) i answer the question that is asked, not the question that i want asked... .. time's yours..

  6. Big Bang ;)

Although much research is needed before we can fully understand it, I think it makes much more sense than "God did it".

  7. Wrong forum.  Cosmology is not a part of biology.  Try astronomy or physics instead.

Could you believe that God created everything through the "Big Bang"?

Actually, the "big bang" theory is closer to the Biblical concept of creation than the competing (and mostly abandoned) "steady state" theory.

  8. God is your imagination. Science is fact.

  9. the big bang created the universe, rest is just illogical.

  10. I also believe that GOD created everything.  That's why I believe the process of cloning is against GOD's will, thus creating a man made human is how can I say this CREEPY!!! and blasphemous....
