  1. no!

2012 marks the end of the cycle.  when our calendar ends on Dec 31st, we start back at the beginning on Jan 1st.  it works the same way with the Mayan calendar.

  2. No. No, no, no.

  3. oh great, now people are saying its a prophecy?

NO I DON'T its a normal year, now people are still gonna talk and ask  wondering about 2012 pretty much like June the sixth 2006 and nth happened.

and no the world wont freaking end at that date, it might end tomorrow for all we know. and now when 2012 comes and nothing happens, people are gonna start to wonder about June the sixth 2106

  4. There is no Mayan prophecy about 2012.

Ever since the 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenario did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. Then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everthing happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

  12. no

there have been many doomsday prophecies including one where a group of people sold all they had and went up to the top of a mountain and waited for the end of the world to come imagine how dumb they felt when they had to come back down when the world didn't end

  14. Did the Mayan's make any such prophecy?

or was it others at a much latter date, who probably miss understood the significance the Mayans placed on the end on an Epoc.

Scientists PREDICTED that Mir would be destroyed in 2000. So predications can be made, and they can be scientific

Mir means world in Russian, and that space-station re-entered/ENDED in 2000. Seems farly obviously to me that a mix up in MEANING when translating between languages, could have lead to people "predicting" the end of the world in 2000.

Annother weird thing is when anyone "talks" to supernatural enties they always seem to speak the language of the listener, you never get a foreign language that can't be understood! Seems a bit weird to me as many spirits guides etc are supposed to be Native American, who presumable spoke/speak Native American languages. As such there would have to be some kind of automatic translation going on. I'd expect at least a few translation errors to creep in now and them!

  15. No.  For the two millionth time.

    Yawn.

  16. the Mayan prophecy is that there will be a change in 2012 it doesnt specifically say the world is going to end like many people believe

  17. No!!!!

They are just a bunch of loonys trying to get some attention by saying some crazy thing. Anyone can do that, even I can. Listen. In 2010 my iTunes card will expire. On the 4th of May 2009 I will forget to brush my teeth. On the 6th of July 2011 gordon brown will get rabies. Its a bunch of rubbish!!!!

  18. their world ended centuries ago!!...they never saw that coming?....you must be nuts?

  19. NO NO NO NO

If you mean the apocalypse, the bible says many people will try to predict when it will occur, but only god knows and not even jesus.  Man will never correctly predict the apocalypse.  It could happen before or after.
