A distinguishing characteristic of humans is their ability to create and communicate representations of the world around them. This feature has enabled humans to be very "social animals" and to survive using this sociability, as a group. Through the evolution of speech, systems of morality and society emerged. As individuals, we realize that the accuracy of these communicated representations determines outcomes in social and political situations.

Without words, a lie is impossible. With a lie, words lose their meaning. Lies depends on the truth, or what IS.

You can look at a rock and know that it is gray. You know the word for gray. You can describe the rock to another person as such.

Someone tells you about that same rock. You have to trust that it is gray, assess their intentions, etc...

What are some of the ways that you verify information? Where do you draw the line, as far as what you are willing to believe from another person. Do you trust your eyes more than your friend's eyes? Do you trust your friend more than you trust the news? Do you trust the government more than the news? etc...

  1. Words have meaning. Words have certain powers.

Word is a 'matter', and the same world is a 'spirit'.

Example of word assuming power is: Suppose we scold a child, it starts weeping. Otherwise a child is innocent. When we scold our words assume some powers and that makes the child cry.

Another example. A ferocious dog comes and barks. We are afraid. It only barked and raised some sound. Why we became afraid is that sound has assumed some powers.

Gross realities have to be believed - that which has happened before our eyes. Subtle realities cannot be trusted unless verified by allowing some time to verify.

  2. I think, that words are rude materialization of feelings. Both animals and humans can feel. Lie is intended to hide. So animals can achieve it, because they can not speak, people achieve it if they lie.

Lie has a purpose. Bad or good. I think, that the matter, that there can be Good ground of lie(which you personally may not be able to understand), it's reasonable to believe your friends.

I don't want to express my opinion in relation to politics:)

  3. Words only have a meaning to what we can assign to them.

  4. I believe in the power of words and there is a power in them. With words we can heal or wound, define and refine. As with all things there is a positive and negative aspect to the power of speech. Its up to us how we use that power

How I trust a person is to rely on my instinct. Consummate liars can lie and that lie wouldn't show in their eyes or body language.

I rarely trust the news. Trust the government? About as far as I could throw the politicians that make up the government
