When we drink, we get drunk.

When we get drunk, we fall asleep.

When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.

When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.

So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven!

  1. Wine was commonly served in the time of Jesus. That is because good water was hard to find and there was also no refrigeration. So grape juice fermented. Having wine is not a sin, but drinking to excess and becoming a drunkard is.

  2. If to excess yes.

    Irish toast? Burnt

  3. No, as sins are man-made.

  4. Drinking doesn't always lead to drunkenness, sometimes just that lovely little buz.

  5. Tts 2:11   For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

Tts 2:12   teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

Tts 2:13   looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Ecc 10:17 Happy is the land whose king is a nobleman and whose leaders feast only to gain strength for their work, not to get drunk.

Rom 13:13 We should be decent and true in everything we do, so that everyone can approve of our behavior. Don't participate in wild parties and getting drunk, or in adultery and immoral living, or in fighting and jealousy.

Eph 5:18 Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you.

  9. Yeah for the Irish!

  10. I think there's a proverb that says something along the lines of "wine is a mocker, and strong drink is raging". I do, however, think it was talking in terms of excessive use.

My church forbids use of alcohol, I think that may have something to do with society's standards though, and the ah, predilection some people have for it.

I'm an alcoholic, so I know all about drinking to excess. I wish I had never taken my first drink, but I also know there are some people that can drink their whole lives, and they never get drunk, they never take it to extremes.

  11. Kind of silly, don't you think?

It is not a sin to drink.

It is wrong to drink so much, one becomes drunk.

    The old toast is stale.

  12. If it is then i am sooo going to h**l!!!

  13. Didn't Jesus drink?  He turned the water in wine at the wedding in Cana.  So how could it be a sin to do what Jesus himself did?

In Heaven there is no beer

    (No beer?!)

That's why we drink it here

And when we're all gone from here

Our friends will be drinking all the beer.

In Heaven there is no wine

    (No wine?!)

So we drink till we feel fine

And when we leave this all behind

Our friends will be drinking all the wine.

  14. To live one's life seeking only earthly pleasures is an abomination unto the Lord.

When you fall asleep, you run off the road, kill others, and go to the lower regions.

  15. I don't believe in the sin concept. I rarely drink, but I have no problems with someone who does. (as long as they are not driving)

    Cute toast!

  16. I love that toast.

  17. I'll drink to that!
