  1. In the days when the majority of MPs were Public School, Oxbridge and fairly comfortably off, they were in much better positions to follow their consciences. While these people were not without human vices, having already attained a degree of wealth and status, they were not so dependant on becoming successful politicians and therefor less vulnerable to 'Whipping', intimidation and corruption.

The power of multinational companies controlled by International Financiers has enabled widespread control to be exercised over major political parties to ensure that the majority of politicians are puppets of The New World Order before they even achieve high office.

A fine example of the modern politician is Blair, who entered Parliament a man of very modest means and has recently toured the US collecting his wages for subjugating the British people to the will of the Bush administration.

  2. I think Idi Amin was true to himself. And Adolf Hitler. And Robert Mugabe. All nice people. Better to have them puppets of others than running things themselves.

  3. Sure.  Look at Theodore Roosevelt.

  4. I think that, somehow, organizations function in a completely different way than individuals. There are some disgusting things that governments do to people that an individual (even a president or prime minister) on their own would never do.

It's hard for the individual to survive in any organization without being changed (especially the decent ones).
