Do you believe spirits are more active during the "anti-hour" (between 3:00 and 4:00am)?

If you ghost hunt, do you place special emphasis on this time period?

no, but I was in upstate New York once and tried to buy beer at 3:15. The guy told me "No way, you have to come back at 6am if you want beer"

I have always wondered who that law was made for and I speculate that it was designed to prevent witched and vampires from getting drunk.

edit: by they way, why not measure the vibrational frequencies and tell us what you get for a result. Are they the thinnest at 3am?

spirits do not have any particular time in which they decide to become active .The time in which you speak is the time some people believe the veil between ours and the afterlife's is the thinnest.I have documented paranormal activity during all hours of day and night in my investigations so I would not agree on a specific time

Well, I always make an effort to try and astral project, or have an out-of-body experience right before the sun rises.  It's basically because of the sun rising.  A new change in temperature changes the electromagnetic field and the air waves.  This can trigger spiritual activity and whatnot, since sprits supposedly need more energy to become active.

I think the only activity you might be able to observe at the "anti-hour" of Christ's death would be so called demonic activity, that being from the devil, because as the above responses have suggested it's always 3:00am somewhere. If it was 3:00pm when Christ died in Israel it would have been 8:00am in the midwest of the U.S.  This fact makes the significance of the time of Christ's death somewhat subjective when linking it to paranormal activity, because the true "anti-hour" in the midwest would therefore be 8:00pm.  So if there is in fact more activity at 3:00am  wherever you are because of Christ's time of death, it would only be demonic activity because the devil and demons are the only ones described as mocking Christ and God, and activity at that hour would occur solely as the act of mocking God.  If other spirits operated at that time as well, I would wager that it would be because it's pretty much the latest part of the night, because come 4:00am, that's just REALLY early in the morning, but 3:00am is really late, dark and no one is around, making it very scary and a prime time to see, or think you see a ghost.  If I was a ghost and wanted to scare someone really bad, I would probably do it at 3:00am, but that is still a subjective interpretation and reason for activity at that time, there would be no measurable or scientific reason for activity to occur at that hour as far as I know, and if there was a scientific reason then it wouldn't have anything to do with the time of Christ's death.

That was probably way more of an analysis of your question than you wanted but I think I covered all the major elements and factors needed to fully answer it.

But of course all of this means nothing if you don't believe in spirits or the devil or anything.

IDK...That's what the guy on Paranormal State said. As far as what Peter D. said...Even though they didn't have watches then (that we know of )...I think they went by the position of the sun. As for night time. I'd think they would look at the position of the moon . I don't know what they did when they couldn't see the moon. They seemed pretty "ingenious"..so I'm sure they had this figured out.( I wonder what Peter D. would do if he didn't have a watch or a clock.)(or a computer)

The "anti-hour" seems pretty silly to me.  I am sure there were ghosts long before Christ was born, if you follow that religion.  And the stars were the way the ancients could tell time at night.  They know a lot more than we ever give them credit.  Actually, the veil is the thinnest between dusk and dawn, and dawn and dusk, wherever you are.  Time has nothing to do with it, it is when your part of the world transits from day to night and vice versa.  Although ghosts can be active in any time according to their circumstances, the "wee" hours in your area are usually psychically quieter and their presence can be felt clearer.  As an official ''ghost hunter"  we like to be at a place from about midnight to  morning, and find that activity can happen at any time.  But the quieter it is, the easier for them to communicate to us.

Honestly, I think it's in how you look at it. Think about it, during the day, you're busy, life is hustle and bustle, it's noisy. Ghost activity is usually very quiet, very subtle and very easily dismissed when you're busy. So I think you're more likely to notice it when you're still and quiet.

Though I do have to admit... I had a demon in my house for a while, a few years ago, and it consistently woke me between 3 and 4 am every night. But in this case I think it's more likely it just knew I was afraid of the dark and was playing on that fact.

My group has had successful daytime and nighttime investigations.  I have seen more activity past midnight, but not necessarily between 3 & 4 am.  We don't put emphasis on any particular time period.

Funny you should say this. I dont know how many people I've talked to that always wake up somewhere around 3 or 4 in the morning. I never ralated it to spitirts, but it really struck a chord with me. I dont specifically ghost hunt-but I've had numerous encounters with spirits-ghosts-whatever you want to call them. I'm not sure if I'm going to investigate this or not. I keep trying to deny the whole thing.

I believe Ghosts dont 'schedule' when they come out. They dont have a little calender or a PDA and mark what time they will be out and what times they wont.

Ghosts, I believe, come out at the time when they died or when the living energy in the house is at rest, which is why many people believe that 'Dead Time' is 3 - 4 AM.

If I do a ghost hunt, I study at what time the ghost or spirit died, and what time the owners of the house usually see the spirit.

I would put special emphasis on these 3 times :

(1. Hour of the ghost or spirits death

(2. Dead Time AKA Anti Hour. Whatever you would like to call it.

(3. When the owners report seeing this ghost or spirit.

P.S. I think the crucifacation of Christ has nothing to do with Anti Hour. I believe ghosts come out at Anti Hour because between 3-4 is usually when all energy in the house is at rest.

It has not been my experience to see or experience spirits at the 3-4 a.m. hour...I personally don't put much faith in that theory. It has been my experience that ghosts will do their thing when ever they feel like it. Some are just "looping", doing the same thing all the time... Nana

no. i believe that ghosts can appear any time. if you watch ghost hunters as i do than you would realize that they get activity any time unless the place is not haunted. but i do hear that if you wake up by the smell of sulfur or fire at 3:00am-4:00am than that could mean something "paranormal" is gonna happen to you. or that you'll die soon. hope i helped! :)

Everytime I have seen a spirit it's between those times, I never knew that, that was a certain time that they could be seen.

My parents also saw something around those times several years back, so i think it's definately a great time to ghost hunt!

I do body removals for a living. I've been in quite a few morgues between 3 and 4 am. It can be quite creepy at that time, especially when there 20 or 30 bodies in the cooler and a body or two on the prep table(s). I haven't had any unusual experiences other than having an over active imagination.

I also can't see where the dead would be concerned with time. Can spirits tell the difference between daylight and standard time?  Do time zones matter as well?

It's always 3:00 am somewhere....so that means the anti-hour is pretty much every hour.

If this were to be true, you'd have to base the anti hour off the 3:00pm in a middle eastern time zone. Which on the east coast of the U.S. is probably around 5-6 in the afternoon, if I remember correctly...

I bellieve in paranormal stuff, but I don't put too much stock into things like this, for the reason I stated above.

No, I do not believe spirits are more active during any particular time of day.  What do they care what time it is?  They don't have watches and they don't need to work or sleep.  I *do* believe, based on testimonials I've seen here, there is a strong link between sleeping and perceiving paranormal phenomena.  Most people are asleep at that hour, so it's possible more ghosts are perceived at that time.

How would anyone be able to ascertain what time of day Jesus was crucified?  (Clocks didn't exist back then.)  Those who know the most about the crucifixion haven't even settle on a particular year, so how would they even know what time of day it could have taken place.  Even if it did occur at 3pm (not 3am), what does that have to do with ghosts?  Also, how do you account for the difference in time zones?
