I think its a bunch of c**p with this Fannie and Freddy bailout!!  We did the same thing after 9/11 by bailing out the airline industry.  They said, "Thank you tax payers for the billions of dollars."  And yet a lot of them still ended up filing bankruptcy anyway!  What a frigging waste of our tax money!  If Fannie was so great then why was Freddy created?!!  So friggin annoyed!  They'll both keep the blood letting and we, not elected officials, we keep giving them our hard earned money!!!

Most leaders don't. It's all been worked out by legislators and bureaucrats and a leader will just tacitly accept that what they are signing is in line with their administration's policies.

The only president I know of who might have read all that stuff was Carter...because he was the kind of President who refused to delegate. He was such a terrible micro-manager he even took control of the scheduling of the White House tennis courts.

As for Bush, it's just lucky for him that he doesn't have to read all that stuff.
