Usually as women age, they go for a shorter, easier to manage hairstyle, especially when they have children. Everyone I've known growing up either had short hair in their 30's or cut their locks for a very short and manageable 'do.
My mother in law became a mother at 18. I realize she regrets not having a completed childhood and she still wishes she was a teenager. She dates several times a week and spends hours in the bathroom getting ready while her eldest watches the two younger children. She is very into herself and spends too much time on her hair for someone reaching 40! Her hair is more than half way down her back, it's scraggly, thinning and she likes to over do the hair spray on her straight locks.
Am I just stereotyping older women, or is it normal to cut your hair shorter as you age? Does it make you look more mature?
Thanks!
