Global warming is an issue that has been getting a lot of attention the past few years from all angles (scientists, politicians, the media). What most people don't realize is that there is much disagreement amongst scientists that 1) it is occurring and 2) humans are the cause of it. Generally speaking, the average person would probably agree that it is happening. But, then again, I've heard some of those same people say that a warm winter day is due to global warming. What I'm trying to say is that most people hear the scary stuff presented by politicians and the media and don't necessarily look further into the issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying global warming is not an issue, I'm just presenting the two sides.

Do you believe that global warming is occurring and that humans are the cause of global warming? .

  1. no

  2. GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL=but not caused by man or anything man made.  I'LL LET YOU PROVE IT TO YOURSELF= THE INVISIBLE FORCEFIELD (OZONE) HAS BEEN WEAKENED TO ALLOW EXCESSIVE HEAT THROUGH TO CAUSE MASS DESTRUCTION TO ALL LIFE ON EARTH. YET OUTER SPACE DOES'NT COME INTO OUR ATMOSPHERE, YET OUR ATMOSPHERE IS'NT LEAKING OUT, YET SOLIDS CAN COME AND GO AT WILL AND ALL NON-SOLIDS ARE DECIPATED IN THE COLD THINNED AIR ABOVE OUR HEADS. YOU START A SAFE FIRE AND WATCH THE SMOKE DECIPATE IN FRONT OF YOUR VERY EYES, ADD SOMETHING TO MAKE BLACK SMOKE AND WATCH THAT DECIPATE. NOW THINK DO YOU KNOW ANYONE OR ANYTHING THAT CAN DO THIS. CONGRESS ordered the  E.P.A. to prove to them last year that non-solids were getting to the ozone, THEY CANT BECAUSE IT DECIPATES. SCIENTISTS WERE WORKING OUTSIDE THEIR OWN FIELDS, ORDERED BY OUR GOVT. SO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS ONLY THOUGHTS, NOT FACTS.  HAVE A NICE DAY.

  3. yes, i belive global warming is definitely happening - in the recent past we hear about increase in temperature, more storms, floods, tornadoes, melting of glacier..

who else other than human beings has the intelligence to destroy the nature mindlessly.

  4. since I live near the Missouri river & the hiways are cut through the huge mounds of dirt (loess) left when the ice sheets that once covered the area melted.

I'm thankfull for  global warming & hope it continues as it always has.

  5. There is literally tons of data and journals and studies - all pointing to global warming and the human impact- the only real scientific debate is how much, what time table and what to do about it.  Humans are the cause and the solution.

Here are a few web sites:

    http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/glob...

    http://www.edf.org/article.cfm?ContentID...

    http://www.edf.org/page.cfm?tagID=1011

anybody that denies it - doesn not understand science and should be asked to back up their position with scientific data -

There are just so many sources of global warming information - endless scientific journals, university studies - no denying it.

go to google and type in "global warming"

  6. No one really debates weather global warming is occuring.  Less than 20% will say man does not contribute at all.  How the AGW Crises senerioes have far greater debate, they have left science and reason at the door.  Models range from a temp increase of 1.5 deg C to 10 deg C.  The earth is warming and man is causing part of it.  I just believe the the total temperature change will be the lesser not the greater.

  7. It happens naturally and in the millions of years levels are at it's highest.

  8. I've looked very much further into the issue and the simple fact is there is - not -

    "much disagreement amongst scientists"

    That is propaganda.

Perhaps it is you who should look further into the issue.

  9. Yes and no. its happening, VERY SLOWLY, but not because of us. SUN SPOTS!

  10. Yes, No, well maybe not.  I think there was a clear trend during the last century where temperatures were actually increasing.  I don't know what if any impact human activity had on the temperature rise.  I also don't think the scientist actually have any proof either way.

The problem for the scientist and goof balls trying to make political hay out of the issue is that any fool can look at the climate data and tell if the earth is warming or cooling.  Stupid politicans saw an opportunity to use the increasing temperatures as a way to justify trampling freedom and increasing the power of governments world wide.

Now comes the inconvenient truth.   For the last several years the earth has been cooling.  This defies the climate models which were used to predict the dire consequences of global warming.   So now what.  Now we are told yes natural climate variations are erasing decades of human caused global warming, but that at the end of 10 to 15 years of global cooling global warming is going to come back with a vengence.

I see much tar and many feathers for the gorebull warming crowd.  If indeed the earth does continue to cool for the next decade or so, as predicted by the global warming scientist.  Then its going to impact food production, and it has already disrupted planting and crop yeilds this year, which will further increase the global food shortage.  It will cause increased demand for energy at a time when supplies are already short.

The bottom line is a bad situation is going to be made worse by actions taken to prevent global warming while we're in the middle of global cooling.  I think there will be a serious back lash and it won't be global warming snapping back but the ire of a mislead public.

  11. Yes to both, no one with any bit of knowledge still denies global warming. As for humans being the cause, theres more of a debate there. However, humans have changed the atmospheric concentrations of many greenhouse gases and these definitely lead to warming, so that is why i thoroughly believe in it.

  12. Even if you don't believe in global warming, there is enough evidence that pollution is ruining all our lives.  It's probably the reason for cancer.  It's probably the reason for many species dying.  It's probably the reason so many things have actually become more dangerous - ie skin cancer, food poisoning, water contamination.  Who besides the human species is responsible?

  13. I believe it is occurring, but I can't say conclusively it's from humans.  I'm sure hundreds of millions of autos and factories belching out CO2 and pollutants aren't helping.  I don't think this huge disagreement between scientists exist.  I think it's trumped up.  The Flat Earth Society still claims the world is flat.  Just because some people believe this doesn't mean there's a huge debate raging on about it.

  14. errr Global warming isn't real......

  15. I agree with the majority that global warming is happening and humans are the cause of it.  I think the real question is why are some people choosing to ignore global warming.  Can't they see the consequences? The car dealers I understand but others I don't.  Human are the cause and history proves it. Back to the stone age, when man first made fire to the industrial revolution to now. People only see what they could do to improve the nation technologically. People don't know the conscequences back then because they are happening now. Today people are ignoring what happening to the earth until they are forced to see the reality.
