  1. It can be a form of both.  I hid my feelings from him so I wouldn't get hurt, but it happened anyway

  2. Sometimes I hide myself because I do not wish for my true feelings about something to affect another person so I guess that would be under self preservation.

But there are times I'm afraid that people are going to judge me harshly and that's insecurity..

    So both :)

  3. ...self preservation...

...to avoid the enemy, to live another day...

  4. Meditation, seclusion is required for performing pure and as well as criminal acts.

  5. One of the two or Both. They are not mutually exclusive.

  6. insecurity, it's about not believing of one self rather than just in the hope one could make it through of something. Why hide if you have no doubt or you trust yourself enough to trust others to see who you are truly..

  7. insecurity mostly

i mean there are times of self preservation, but most people do it because of insecurity to what might people think or too afraid

  8. both.

insecurity- coz the world is crazy and we don't know whoever is out there

self preservation -the part where we would learn to find the real self-value, since we are not waiting for other's approval to rate us

other than that, it's on the intention. if you do so out of fear, then it is negative, which you would be focusing more on feeling insecure of other people. but if it's out of pride, then it'd be more on self-preservation, realizing the worth on yourself and not to put it on others...and i believe that the negative part could anytime be diverted into positive through deliberate efforts.

and it's still important to go with right intentions, so that the 'hiding process' would be appropriately taken

  9. That kind of depends on who or what is after you doesn't it?

  10. Well a little of both.

Insecurity is what causes us to "hide" our true selves. But the reason is "Fear".

Since we are by our nature, social creatures, we must form a dissimulation for the world to see us as we would have them see us. Life is Hollywood and Hollywood is life. We choose a backdrop (our home) and we wear makeup, and we fidget and wriggle when we lie in order to hide the truth. Since we live in a society riddled with moralists who are eagerly ready to pounce and shake a finger at our indiscretions, we keep our darkest side on the inside, for social self-preservation. We do this because we are insecure about how the world would take us if we freely expressed every thought we have.
