Do you believe that humans can have paranormal powers?

Such as telekinesis, mind reading, hypnosis, etc.

I myself have a friend that can describe people's dreams quite accurately - he once looked into one of my parents', about the country we once lived, accurately describing the colour of the rug (which was a pale pink), the layout of the furniture, and a description of my dead grandmother.

And no, I never showed him any type of picture nor did I ever describe the layout of the said house, which I do know quite well.

Opinions?

  1. I'm sensing a table with some chairs around it in or quite close to a kitchen. Just down the hall is a room with a double bed and some sort or cupboard..... hold on the vision is getting stronger.... um I'm mentally opening the cupboard, I'm seeing some clothes and whats that.... hold on ..... have to concentrate.... ooh .... shoes!

  2. No, but I do believe that people have normal human abilities that have not yet been explained and described by science like telekinesis and ESP.

Hypnosis is not a super power it is a well established psychological technique. (link below)

Despite some of the skeptics that refuse, based on their personal faith, to accept the evidence there is a evidence that meets all the established criteria for any other evidence in any other scientific field.

"Rosenthal, after considering the possible influence of various flaws upon study outcome, concluded that the overall hit rate of the studies could be estimated to be 33 percent, whereas chance expectancy was 25 percent."

"Using the standards applied to any other area of science, it is concluded that psychic functioning has been well established. The statistical results of the studies examined are far beyond what is expected by chance. Arguments that these results could be due to methodological flaws in the experiments are soundly refuted. Effects of similar magnitude to those found in government-sponsored research at SRI and SAIC have been replicated at a number of laboratories across the world. Such consistency cannot be readily explained by claims of flaws or fraud."

  3. Yep it's possible. Did that with my friends grandparents house in Panama. I described the area around it too. Such as telekinesis I dont believe soo.... I mean paranomal powers are supposed to be pro-body, why would our powers make us lazier than we already are. its like doing a star wars trick like you go and lift your hand and pick up the controller or like cook a whole meal without leaving the couch. doesn't sound too healthy lol. But mind reading yea, ghost seeing yea, things like that is a def. yea.

  4. We all in some way have the power of the gifts given us, and we have the unlimited powers at our usage flow from God in the name of Jesus Christ.

I was given the power to Heal, ESP...Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Mediumship, Retrocognition, and a touch of some of the other ESP abilities.

  5. my friend thinks he can levitate

  6. I'm certainly open to the evidence. So far, though, controlled testing has revealed nothing except some very debatable results based on dubious statistical manipulations. That's an interesting talent your friend has, however remembering dreams accurately can often be hard to do (I forget them quite quickly myself). If the dreamer is predisposed to believing in your friend's ability, they may be more disposed to accepting your friend's analysis as being more accurate than it really was. It would be better if the dreamers wrote down every detail of their dreams beforehand, then your friend can try to predict those details.

  7. No,that's just plain silly.

  8. The only way to confirm is with strict testing. The double blind format is very effective if you really want to eliminate the possibility of self-deception. Anecdotes are not good evidence.
