  1. Yes

  2. I'm an aetheist and I do believe that the bible is based on true events.  I just think those events were passed along orally until someone thought they should write down what they'd heard - but if you've ever played Chinese Whispers I'd say the same thing happened along the way.  I mean, we are talking about stories that came from a largely superstitious and uneducated society.

I think the bible should be interesting to someone like... an historian who specialises in mythology, but I think that's as far as it should go.  I definitely don't think it should be the definitive "textbook" for ascertaining our moral and spiritual beliefs.

  3. What ridiculous parts?  I believe the Bible contains religious truths.  We are not supposed to look at the Bible as a book of science or a history book.

  4. It is 'Truth' cover to cover ~

  5. I believe the bible has many good messages (not to say all its messages are good) and some good fairy tales that teach positive morals.  I also believe it is a "somewhat" accurate account of historical events.  I do not believe it is in any way divine or "the word of God."  I believe it is taken too literally in some places where in others it is ignored.  I believe it is a very important part of our history as the human race but not that it should be believed in as anything more than a history book.

I once concidered myself Christian, then I had these thougths and they didn't fit their faith.  I then found a different path.

  6. No, I only  believe the ridiculous parts are true, but I still consider myself a Christian.
