I don't believe people will become food, no, but as depicted in the movie I think some foods will become very precious and hard to get.  Food that we take for granted.

That is just a movie. Our real future will be nothing like that. There are a thousand different ways our future could be that bad or worse, and a thousand ways it could be better. So far, we have done WAY better than is depicted in the movie. There is no way New York's population will grow to 40 million by 2022 as depicted in the movie for example.

Most industrial nations have negative population growth right now. World population is only increasing because third world population is skyrocketing. And they don't have the technology to play that sort of game.

The world with a population of over 60 billion humans, living on a planet covered in skyscrapers over 400 levels high and several blocks across,  With all the poor living within the permanent smog layer near the ground.

Is this the world you were thinking of -  Not that far in our future either - Soylent Green??   Not so unlikely
