Do you believe that parents have a favorite child? I do.

MY mom likes my older brother more than me and I see it through her attitudes. She treats him very good and she gives him all he ask but I don't have the same treatment that he does. She said that she hates me and loves my brother.

yes. my dad told me if he had to have a favorite child, it would be me. and my mom never mentioned it but she yells at my brother more and is nicer to me..

he might think teh same about you and she deosnt hate you and love him she loves you both, but it is hard not to have favorites so deal with it maybe act more like him

Your mother told you that she hated you?????? Yikes. I hope she meant that she hated something you did instead of you yourself. I am so sorry.

I know how you feel my mom always lets my brother get away with things that she doesn't let me get away with.

She's a mean person...a parent should not love one child more than they love the other (in fact, having 2 kids myself, I cannot imagine loving one more than the other...I love them both).  A parent may find one child easier to deal with, but as for loving the kids, it's impossible not to love them both.

I think it's only human for someone to have a 'favorite' person, but that doesn't mean they don't love you in their own way. I have 6 siblings, and it's very clear to me that i'm at the low end of the pecking order. Our family has a 'golden child' (my brother) and a 'black sheep' (me) and everything in between. I'm ok with it.

Honestly I believe that parents do indeed try to treat all kids equally.  At times it is difficult though as something may be happening in one's life where they need more attention then the others.  Also as sad as it may seem I also believe that most first born kids have a special place in parents hearts, just for the fact that they came first.  It is the same with grandkids in most cases.
