Do you believe that some clothes could bring luck?

How could we explain the fact that there are clothes we like to wear and they bring us luck-f.e. students know that when going on exam it is good to wear something with what they had passed previous exams with good results....

If someone believes that they are going to pass the test because they are wearing something "lucky" they will probably be more confident and less stressed out and may perform better on the test as a result.

I think some clothes just make us feel better about ourselves so therefore we exerberate more confidence.

Some people feel more confident when wearing certain clothes or types of clothes. A more confident person will be more apt to act on opportunities and less likely to make mistakes stemming from hesitation.

And there are some clothes that will definitely make you more likely to "get lucky." ;)

I do, but I think it is in your head. I you believe you have good luck than that aded confidence will help you preform better. It is just a confidence booster.

I don't know, but I have this pair of earrings, that whenever I wear them to work or wherever, the whole day goes just great!  Everything is smooth, no problems, and even I feel better.

Frankly, it's a mental thing.  If a person genuinely believes that something they're wearing will bring them luck, a few things will happen:

1.  They'll be more confident, thus reinforcing the 'lucky' feeling, as well as relaxing nerves (which definitely improves performance!)

2.  They'll be more likely to notice and pay attention to fortunate coincidences than they would have otherwise.

So it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy - the item itself might not have magical luck powers, but the confidence gained from wearing it makes it feel that way.

honestly, i don't think a peice of clothing actually has anything to do with luck.....but,

i do believe that what you wear for certain occasions have the ability to pyschologically make you feel better....

certain colors, certain fabrics, certain name brands give us confidence... EX:  black makes you feel thinner.....

if you don't feel good in what you wear, you lose a bit of confidence....and i know i have changed just for that fact at times....sounds silly, but that's the way it is.

It's all about energy. Certain clothes make us feel lucky which is a positive feeling. Positive feelings create positive energy and we become filled with that energy which we then exude. That energy will positively help us in whatever we are doing which in turn makes us think that our clothes are lucky.

It's all in the mind.  If you believe you'll be lucky, then you will be lucky.  It's like if a girl goes out to a club and wears and miniskirt and gets all kinds of attention then thinks it's good luck.  In reality it's because she's dressing like a s**t.  Enjoy that advice...it's good, take it home, put some milk on it and put it in your mouth.

Call it the power of suggestion, self-fulfilling prophecy, the placebo effect or anything you like--if we convince ourselves we will do better or worse while wearing, holding, doing something then we increase the chances of subconsciously fulfilling that expectation.

However, nothing has shown that wearing a special shirt will make you win every time.  Those who are superstitious enough to truly believe in charms will say something like, "I always win when I wear this shirt--except when I lose."
