Queen Elizabeth II has no real executive power, she's just a figurehead.

  1. Ten commandments,You were wrong before and you are wrong again. There is a monarchy in Holland and in Spain, there is also a monarchy in Denmark and in Belgium and Luxembourg also in Monaco.

  2. Why should the Royal Family of England be abolished?  If they are then you need to abolish other such families of other countries.  There are other in Europe, and the Middle East.

So I say they should not be abolished.

  3. yes its archaic and all for show

  4. Not really they are kind of interesting to watch, and it is part of Englands heritage, they are not harming anyone.

  5. I don't give two hoots about the Royal's personally. I mean I actually don't mind the Queen, but if Charles becomes king and then Camilla queen then we should just get rid, as they are both useless imbeciles. Charles should abdicate the throne and pass it on to Will. I think Will would be a good king and would go quite some way in restoring public faith and opinion in the Royal family. If Charles is made king then absolutely no way should Camilla be queen. She should be offered the title of Princess Consort and nothing higher.

  6. Of course not.

  7. Yes as most modern countries trust their own populations to choose their own heads of state why not Britain, are we not smart enough.

  8. They bring in tourism, do you think so many people would tour Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palce if they weren't actual working residences? Plus the Duke of York is a roving ambassador for Trade (it's an official title - not self-appointed) and I'd rather have an enelected HEad of State rather then a party political President.

  9. No.  They bring in billions of pounds for Britain as they pull in the tourists.

    The best tourist attraction ever.

  10. we english did in 1649 with a swift blow of an axe, but thanks to a bloody scot we got monarchy back again

  11. YES!!! Basically she gets money for not ruling. I saw her palace and she lives good off of the people. Pretty much the Prime Minister rules the roost in England.

  12. I don't understand either why the monarchy there or anywhere has so much status. But I also see parallels in democratic countries(I'm from the USA) that are technically the equivalent. The celebrities, politicians, and corporation executives enjoy many perks awarded them purely on their personas. They get free products and services that they can afford and "keys to the city." They're only people as well. It's as if the masses continue to need somebody "to look up to."

  13. Like I've said before, the English Monarchy is the only European monarchy left and we should preserve this part of our history even if it seems absurd at the moment.
