Do you believe that the job umpires are doing these days are terrible?

It seems every game i watch is some sort of controversy, i can't stand it. Strike zones are inconsistent, other calls are often questionable. My least favorite umpire is Joe West, he umps the yankees a lot.

Yes. Texas has gotten some S****y calls recently.. but I'm sure everyone else has too. Is Joe West umping tonight or does he just ump in NY? If he is that would explain some S****y calls. I say they go back to an umpire school before the season starts. Their have been ridiculous calls.

I could honestly not care less. The umpires are the only thing separating baeball from any other regular sport there is. It adds a speck of opinion. If the ump makes a wrong call, there's just more to talk about. But the umpires, aren't that inconsistent, the strike zone moves at most 1 inch per game

Umpires are fine. They are held to higher standards than most average everyday people like you and me at our jobs. The vast majority of people who try to become major league umpires fail. That should tell you a lot about their quality. Human error is frustrating, but most calls in sports can be determined by the naked eye.

I think they have imperfections but still

Today Kinsler should of been out and it would be a DP and 2 outs instead its a 3run hr by Young and Joba might be seriously injured , tisk tisk

I think they do a pretty good job considering they are all hopped up on hgh,pills,booze and reefer.Oh,my mistake,that's the players.

It's shaky sometimes. But I like Baseball without Instant Replay because you'd ruin the authenticity and dignity of the game.

I can't stand Tim McClelland. You're right about controversy being in almost every game (he was OUT, Denkinger!), but umps are human. It really sucks though when your team loses a game on a bad call. Thank God instant replay is coming in.

I don't think so, I feel like they are just being scrutinized more because of the NBA scandal. Sure they blow a call here and there but remember they are people and they cant be perfect. Plus what can you do, hopefully instant replay will never be a part of baseball it takes away from the dignity of the game.
