The 2008 Boston Celtics of the NBA had a remarkable season. They were the best team during the 2007-2008 season, the became both the 2008 Eastern Conference Atlantic Division Champions and the 2008 Eastern Conference Champions and won their first NBA Championship in 21 Years against the Los Angeles Lakers.

With the Boston Celtics having such great success in 2007-2008, do you see them having the potential of winning the NBA Championship again in 2009? Why or why not?

  1. 1. no

    2. no need to explain myself

  2. I think they would still be in the Playoffs and the Finals but I don't think they would win the NBA title next season.... Why? 1.) Coz their Big 3 is aging especially Garnett and Allen...

2.) Coz the LA Clippers MIGHT be there to stop them on the NBA Finals I mean...

3.) Coz they lost James Posey who I think has been a valuable part of their championship run last season.... It's not easy replacing someone like Posey....

  3. Nope.... There are too many reason to list yo

  4. they only won the championship because lakers didnt have bynum.

  5. NO.

The reason is because it is VERY difficult for a team to repeat as champions.

  6. it is true that it is difficult to repeat as champs

but if the celts keep Garnett (which they will), Allen (if he doesnt retire), and Pierce (definently) then they got a good chance

rondo is a rising star and has gotten much better the second year than in his first

The loss of Posey is a killer though but one player cant make a team

but as the Celtics showed us all....3 can win a championship and they will again next year

  7. u cant tell if there goin to win again right now ..but i think they are goin to the finals...

    why:they have a complete team....

  8. i think so... being a celtics fan myself all those hard years but then this and i was so happy i think they could go all the way again im mean now they got the big 3 got their 1st championship off their chest so i think now they play more relaxed and alot better

  9. yes 70%

because the Big 3 is still alive and playing for the Boston Celtics

  10. I don't...for these reasons

    1.The East got stronger

2.Their an old team and they all just got a year older

3.Posey left them. He was their best player off the bench in my opinion. Now their bench downgraded and their bench is nothing special.

I think they have a good chance to make it to the Finals, but I don't see them winning a title.

  11. They wont.

  12. I DON'T THINK SO... MOST OF THE TEAMS ARE ALL DOING WHAT THEY COULD/ALL THE NECESSARY MOVES TO GET THE CHAMPIONSHIP... THERE WILL BE BIGGER TRADE DEALS THAT WILL HAPPEN BEFORE THE 2009 PLAYOFFS THAT WILL GREATLY TURN THE TIDES JUST LIKE WHAT THE CELTICS DID THIS YEAR. I HOPE THE SUPERSTARS WE CHEERED FOR FOR A LONG TIME LIKE JASON KIDD OR ALLEN IVERSON OR TMAC FINALLY GET THE RING THAT WOULD CONFIRM THEIR GREATNESS...

  13. Its a fair question. In my opinion, yes. The only factor that can change their chances of winning are the rookies. The only rookies i see as a possible threat are Derick Rose, O.J Mayo and DeAndre Jordan. But i just dont see Rose, Kirk, and Tyrus leading the Bulls to another championship by themselves. Garnett-Pierce-Allen will bring them to finals at least

  14. No they wont. They have to face Lebron James again and the Cavs are legitamently the only team that gave the Celtics  a scare (seeing the Hawks didnt get with in 30 points in Boston). I feel that the Celtics are no different then the Pistons of 2004-2005 season. They will run into Lebron again and this time he wont miss a point blank lay up to give you a game.

  15. they have the potential and are picked to repeat but they won't.  theyre old. theyre liable to get injured. plus all east teams know how to play defense and they barely made it out of east conf. east got better. celtics havent done much except let go of posey. theyll probably get artest and that would change the equation.

  16. no way every team now know what the celtics are known for and their strategy so even if they do make it to the playoffs next season teams will know how to beat em. besides u cant predict the future now.

  17. Yes....They are not old, why do people think if a player is any where near 30 they are over the hill? Not to mention 2 of the 5 starters, are almost in diapers Perkins, and Rondo...who both showed vast improvement last year...This team gained 26 playoff games of experience last year, including 2 game 7's, and now know what it takes to win in the playoffs...Posey was a big blow, but they still have enuff fire power to win again...as Long as they have Allen,Pierce, and KG...they are still the favorites

  18. If they can stay healthy, their chances will be just as challenging.  Every team wants to up their game to beat the top team.  Celtics are not just any average team either.  Healthy teams can do great together, and look like a complete team.  Experience is another factor too.  There is a possible rematch in the upcoming season to defeat the Celtics.  A healthy Portland Trailblazers big man, or even a healthy Andrew Bynum of the Lakers, can and will contend with the Boston Celtics.   A repeat will not come to Boston.

  19. It will be much harder for Boston to win again next year because the Lakers won't make it to the NBA Finals.

  20. nope they lost posey dude helped them out alot
