  1. Carr had lots of good stats because he dumped off on easy passes and got the yards and QB percentage up, but the TDs were not there and he would get the deer in the head light look and get sacked over and over.  Everyone blamed the Linemen for not giving him enough time.  Kubiak saw that the problem laid with the QB not the linemen after one season and fired Carr.  Panthers picked him up and he was again pathetic and a sack snack for the defense.  Now he is playing 4th QB for the Giants and struggling to make yet another team after just one season with Panthers.  I think he was good talent with really bad coaching and at times NO coaching when Capers had no QB coach. Now he is past prime and falling fast.

  2. Uh...No way is Rex the Bears passing leader, if that is what you're implying...Its the punky QB known as McMahon...Remember the '86 Super Bowl?...You're a Patriot fan like me, right?...Yeah...They got demolished by the Bears

  3. Who Matt Schaub? Thats embarassing

  4. You fail to mention that Luckman compiled those stats with 300 less attempts and he also threw 78 more TDs.  And he's also in the Hall of Fame.  So the Bears have had great QBs in the past, but it was during 12 game seasons when the pass wasn't relied on as heavily.  And he won 4 NFL Championships.

All that proves is that the Bears haven't had a consistent QB since the NFL got pass happy about 25 years ago.  And there are a lot of teams that can say that.

So yeah, do you think that it's possible to make statistics indicate anything you want.  Of course you can.

Yes, but even they didn't play in the 1940s, when Luckman did.  Did you mentions that Luckman led the league in passing yards 3 times during his career?  I'm still wondering exactly what point your trying to prove.  The the pass happy, 16 game schedules of the NFL in the 21st century can produce meaningless stats for below average QBs?  Is that what you're going for?

  5. it just shows the texans are pass happy and the bears have never had a standout qb.

  6. David Carr started out good... the more fumbles and interceptions he threw, the less effective he was for the team.  M. Schaub is a lot more efficient--percentage wise.

Back when Mike Ditka was coaching, the Bears were fairly good rivals for the old Oilers. But thank God neither the Oilers nor Ditka are on the field any longer.

1,000 yards will take awhile to surpass. Who knows!?
