  1. To a degree, but don't assume people will be able to read your mind. Don't use it as an excuse to not say what you want/need.

  2. The key here is the word you are using:P

If you talk about knowledge, like hearing things and understanding them mentally, without any personal experience, and retaining the thoughts in your memory, then ...language is a must.

Some centuries, or millenniums will have to pass until I will see two professors talking telepathically:)

But if you are talking about that understanding that comes through your personal experience, through being totally aware in that situation and understanding its meaning directly, then words are the barrier between you and the other person.

You don't need words, they are too slow for this. Both of you understand and you are there totally in that moment. You feel eachother being aware and watchful. And you experience the same understanding. There is a feeling of oneness with the other, even there are two persons there.

It's very beautiful, and words would just spoil the moment.

When you talk, mental processes are starting and are annoying the communication.

It's hard to describe the feeling, You have to experience. That's for sure.

But what's sure, the words are really useful. They are like vehicles which can transport understanding in them. Very useful. But once you've understanded, they are at most annoying.

  3. Yes, I do think that sometimes, a great understanding between people can come from unspoken expressions.

However, as Paul said, one should not expect to have one's mind read or to assume having read the minds of others.  :-)

  4. I do not agree - expressing yourself is a great part of who we are
