  1. Did you purposely spell school wrong lol.

  2. Failure and success are measured differently by different people.   I consider learning things that are remembered to be success.  I do not consider straight  A's  a measure of real learning.    I do not consider students who conform to those around them as a success nor do I consider nonconformist as failures.

So... to decide if the public school is a failure, we need to decide on  how to measure success and failure.

I find it easier to measure the success of home schooling in our own home.  I consider success as equipping a life long learner who knows how to research and think through any problem.

  3. I think so.Watch the news ......come on everytime you turn on the tv something else bad has happened.

  4. Yes, for ever letting people be homeschooled....

    j/k

    =)

  5. judging by the amount of misspellings on this site I believe it probably is.    :  )

  6. Yes, but only because, for so many years, it has been rammed down the throats of parents who know their children would do better in a different kind of system. The growing home-schooling movement is only one of many healthy reactions to this.

However, if parents want their children indoctrinated rather than educated; socialized rather than civilized; pressured to become docile pedestrians rather than imaginative path-finders; to be taught that being an introvert, being creative, preferring to learn about things that interest them personally; or that being in any way *gasp* "different" from the almighty American NORM is a BAD thing, etc; then sure, the public schools are the perfect place to send them! Why should they have to pay for that?

But parents who want educated, civilized children; or whose children would simply do better in a less overwhelming, more personalized, more nurturing environment; one in which personal growth is prioritized over cultural conformity; those should have the free choice to see to that, in whatever way they choose. As the public schools fail to facilitate this freedom of choice, they fail.

  7. I only know it failed my family.

  8. absolutely. home-schooling is the best way to go.  Everyone should read the book called Thomas Jefferson Education.

  9. Yes I do. Look into the history of school. It is mainly a government babysitting job while their parents are at work. They are also ignorant of many thing because the goverment chooses not to teach what is left out.
