"Once you make a decision the Universe conspires to make it come TRUE"???

Has this possibility according to you?

Or is it another cow-eyed, superlatively Romantic earthling wishing a bit of more hopeful B.S. would be waiting to "save the day"...or at least one moment of "a day from h**l", by imagining this as a brief respite???

All answers welcome. No thumbs down day. I'm in a pretty good mood, folks!

Let creativity spill. Ten points to the most ABSURD as a believer or a put-it-downer!!!! Thank You!

  1. It certainly seems cow-eyed [love your wording, by the way], doesn't it?

I'm one of those who doesn't really believe in chance, except perhaps in very small or insignificant circumstances.  So, I think the answer may be that it is we who fall in line with the universe, rather than the other way around, a sort of coming to realize our individual destinies.

  2. Yeah, I really don't know. I've been studying this enigmatic s%+ for years and I finally put the book down because something was amiss. If I contemplated the above for any longer than a couple of minutes, I'd probably go insane and commit suicide, so it isn't worth it. At least for me. Let Ralph Waldo Emerson preach to whomever's eager mind desires to hear his statements about how he manipulates the 'universe' to get ahead in life. Just don't preach it to me.

  3. I think it sounds an awful lot like 'The Secret'  which has been expounded  everywhere for the past couple of years by Opera and all that...All I can say is that these kinds of philosophies are easily touted by the rich and successful but what about the mentally ill man with schizophrenia or the homeless man living in a box? These things cannot be controlled really you know in such cases! Ralph Emerson's transcendental philosophy's purpose is predominantly that of inspiration..this is certainly an inspirational idea, but is there any veracity to it?I am not so sure

  4. I had no idea that RW Emerson had said that!!  But it may be true!!!  I have come to believe Mind and Matter cooperate in bringing benevolent events  I have no idea re "decisions"!  But there is interaction of Mind and Matter!  Quantum Physics!  Peat, an author writes a great book (I can't find it now) on this phenomenon.  I have a number of events in my life that illustrate this.  But I would think that re making decisions, it depends upon oneself to do it!

  5. It's another cow-eyed, superlatively Romantic earthling wishing a bit of more hopeful B.S. would be waiting to "save the day"...or at least one moment of "a day from h**l".
