  1. Evidently so. I'm not sure what increasing temperature with the mind is called. Thank God this planet has some surprises!

  2. That would be pyrokinesis, if it were real. This guy is just pulling a scam, and Ripley's Believe It or Not is a TV show which depends on sensational, credulous reporting to deliver the entertainment, so don't expect tough investigations. It's also a little far-fetched to think Master Jo's same technique can equally heal both kidney problems and gynecological problems!

There's more about Master Jo and Michael Upsher, the physician (a retired anesthesiologist) in the video, in the 1st link below. The trick Master Jo is using is a simple mixing of chemical reactants which produce an exothermic reaction, also known as the Greek Fire Miracle, described in the 2nd link.

  3. It is a hoax.

Aluminum reacts with lye and water and produces heat. The paper towel was was probably soaked in lye or perhaps the "water" that he wets the aluminum foil with contains lye.

    Below is a related information:

  4. No I do not believe this guy is healing anything.  Like any other alternative "medicine" (i.e. acupuncture, Reiki, etc.), the placebo effect may contribute to a perceived improvement of symptoms while the objective (measurable) symptoms are unchanged.

  5. Yes, it may be possible but I cannot say if the incident in question is actual or not. I know a person, personally, that has a reputation for his energy work in various directions. He uses Reiki differently than others I have seen and when he does, his hands generate a lot of heat within seconds. When he starts working with "magic", you can feel the heat radiating from him all over, I have felt it and seen him sweat within less than a minute when out in the snow without a jacket.. I know he has been active for over 20 years with it and aside from Reiki, he works with shamanism, witchcraft, voodoo, and other things. I have heard him referred to by others as an evil sorcerer, prophet, master and guru around town. He doesn't call himself by any title, not even the Dr. that he has. I also know that he has studied Qi-Gong, like the person in the video, although not to that extent. He works with various methods at the same time.

  6. I think he is a fake. Notice he is wearing a cape? He is wearing it for a reason. If this were real he would wear a minimal amount of clothes so people could see everything. He is an illusionist. As for the heat healing power, it is a trick as well.

  7. what... no
