gas stations; yes.  they only make margin on what they're being charged for it which is typically very low.  but the actual companies are making a boat load of money.  theyre basically all foreign countries laughing at the rest of the world while they bankrupt economies.

Yes. Their commission do not change with the high oil prices. But their staff and other operating costs and expenses will also increase. They need to reduces these costs and create redundancies. I think, the governments of the G8 countries, must seriously find an solution for this problem. And the US government must take the lead.

I guess they'll be the only ones supporting the economy when the rest of us are all flat broke.

The big oil companies say that they only make around 8% profit (the average for a business is 20%) but this still amounts to BILLIONS.

I cannot wait until I can afford an electric car because I'm sick of putting my money into the pockets of these greedy and pathetic people. Not that electricity companies are any less greedy but at least they aren't directly making money off the mass murder of innocent people in Iraq.

Yes, I'm sure that they must have hurt their backs carrying all those record profits to the bank. Hey, a billion dollars in hundreds is heavy!

Seriously: every major oil company has seen their profits go up by several billion dollars per quarter over the past two years, They have never been in better financial shape. If that is pain, then hurt me.
