Can you explain time travel and give me information on people who have done it or are doing it?

  1. Time travel is theoretically possible - just not practically achievable with our current understanding of physics. This effect was presented in the famous Twin Paradox: the twin who traveled to the distant star has aged less than his twin who stayed on earth - even though the same amount of time has passed (this time is called the 'proper time'). Its basis is the ability for an object to travel at or near the speed of light. As we know it, it is impossible to come anywhere close to the speed of light through conventional (and possible future) means. Because we have a finite mass, the force required to propel us towards the speed of light would have to be infinite.

  2. no, I don't think it exists and I don't know anyone who does.

but I love the idea, and I think the storeys and movies that are based on it are phenomenal science fictions.

  3. I believe this is why AC cords have polarized plugs now, because of the inevitable time travel effect which occurs when a toaster is plugged in the wrong way.

This 'left handed heat' from the coils cannot properly interact with natural right-handed heat of humans (and peanut butter) which causes your body to simultaneously go backwards a small amount in time, while ejecting a small amount of sweat to preserve the conservation of energy.

But toast afficionados will agree that this is a good way to freshen up stale bread... and toast it.

  4. nope

    T.T

  5. No, it's impossible, as addressed from both a physics and a philosophical perspective.

  6. if there where time travel i would use on a whole different things

  7. I think time can be bent, warped, manipulated, repeated, ect. You can travel back in time mentally, but not physically.

the whole concept of actually transporting your physical being to a past time is flawed. events could be changed and the present deleted. If it really existed it would be irresponsible to try.

  8. einstein proved that it was impossible.

if people in the future had found out a way,

we would be seeing them already.

  9. Time travel is possible, but only for certain subatomic particles, like photons, which have no mass. Some quantum physicists say they have already done this. Time travel is impossible on the macroscopic level, which includes humans.

  10. I wish it did! I'm a historian, and so's my mum, and for both of us there's stuff that we'll never know from the sources and archaeology etc, so the only answer is time travel!!

(yes, I know it's not life or death, but when you've spent your life working on stuff only to find that no-one will ever really know the answer... it's important to us)

  11. nopee.
