  1. Of course they work.. but properly, you make a voodoo doll. It's not really  like in the movies, as a matter of fact, voodoo dolls are rarely used now a days. You could attach the doll to you and use it as a worry doll or a good health doll or a talking doll. You could also attach it to a person you wish to heal or curse. You can gather some hair from the person either from their brush things like that. Maybe if you own a garment they once wore, you could cut a piece of the fabric and tie it to the doll. The "spell" is simple a command for the doll to work. You could make up your own with the person in mind and send either positive/ negative energy to them.

  2. I dont believe in them, or my boss should have a sore ***.

  3. After watching the movie the serpant and the rainbow, I believe that some forms of voodoo do work, and that it doesn't only work by using certain chemicals to alter anothers perception. I feel in order for it to work you would have to be a voodoo priest and know how to delve into the unknown. I think there is a lot more involved than saying a few words and poking needles into the doll, but yes I do believe there are forms of magic that work, but only a few know how to do it, and you aren't going to find out how to do it buying a book on e-bay. There are only a few who are given this rite and it is passed down from generation to generation, after years of extensive religious practices. These people do not hand out their secrets, and the ones that claim they know don't, they are only trying to make money. ;-)

  4. No, I don't believe in these types of things.

That wouldn't be considered Voodoo, but it would be Hoodoo.

One is a religion & the other is the practice of magik.

  5. No they don't work but if the person your trying to hex believes in them than you can cause some problems for  them kind of like the placebo effect. They need to to know you have their voodoo doll and mean them harm.

Derren Brown did a trick on somebody with one and it only worked because they believed it would and he is very convincing.

  6. I think their freaky....My step dad has one, had it for so many years...I got it out one night, ..its aweful..i threw it at my sister, as she is the one that actually found it..and she ran out of the house..lol..(it was funny you had to be there).....I never saw it again, its been locked away somewhere.....

  7. Things like that are just a tool for focusing magical intent. If a person isn't able to focus their will into a magical act, then they really don't do anything.
