If you start a cult in California, and have followers that will donate all their possessions to the cult leader before the end of world, the answer is 'yes, sure, why not'.

If not, I'd say that's a bag o' baloney.

We certainly are not at the peak of our potential. As a species we need to get a grip or we very well may destroy ourselves.

War and Politics are the same old same old.

But technology is aligning a MAJOR transition.

With the advent of genetic engineering mankind stands on the threshold of DIRECTED rather than RANDOM Evolution.

What it takes nature millions of years to achieve by chance, mankind may do in a couple of generations by choice.

Akin to the advent of Religion ~10,000 years ago that enabled Humans to form Nations instead of Packs.  Not really a climax,  but a major transition that thrust us from 'one of the animals' to planetary dominance in a geologic heartbeat.

So if we can avoid a Dark Age or Apocalypse for the next 100 years or so, the NEXT dominant species should be taking the stage.  The rise to power should be exponential, and just as inexplicable to us, as our rise was to the animals.

But we likely looking at a few thousand years, not the next 20.

If advances in technology and medicine were only used to improve the quality of our lives, then the world would be a better place. It seems that while we are advancing in one sense, we are also hastening our demise by polluting our planet and spreading the very diseases we are trying to find cures for.

The direction we take can only really be determined by who takes the reins: someone who wants mankind to go forward, or who wants to reign supreme and ultimately destroy us all. We have a responsibility to elect responsible leaders, and not mere megalomaniacs who are only interested in their own glory.

No, however we now have the communication technology to send the news of such event around the globe instantly and to have greater awareness of such than at any other time in the history of humankind.

Hopefully, this will give mankind a great understanding of how each action by each individual as well as by each group, community, society and nation effects the rest of humanity and the rest of all that exist and inspire us all to work for the mutual benefit of all others and ourselves.

We do face many man made obstacles such as pollution of the land, air and water, the destruction of much of the nature ecological systems of this planet, the health issues we have created by our wastefulness as well as our fears that lead to hatred and hostilities.

Despite such, there is great hope.

No this is just the beginning.In the near future u will find people in many other planets.They will live like countries fighting the same old war for power and planets.The only difference from now is gonna be how they fight.
