I wouldn't change the direction, for i believe technology is the only thing that can help us.  But we should turn around and correct all the things we ran over.

Yes. I'll take care of myself and save my own money instead of the government making me save money (social security) and mandating everything.

We do, but it's unlikely we will until we have the ultimate incentive (when we run out of resources). And even for all the could we try and do, it is inevitable that we will run out of our resources. Just think, for every lightbulb you turn off thinking you're saving the world, there are 1.4 people born every second, turning another lightbulb on. Then we will change our direction, becuase we'll be forced to. We'll have to develop alternative energy sources, because no others will exist. We'll have to recycle or have nothing at all.
